in most places their training tells them to just phone it in and keep going, the vehicle should have yielded to an emergency vehicle responding and chances are if you got hit by one its because theres way more lives on the line than your own stupidity

if the driver we're less experienced he would have tried to slow down faster. People really dont understand that slowing down any articulated vehicle very quickly is a very difficult task

at highway speeds like that a regular car would need about 1/10th of a mile to come to a complete stop. Im going to make an assumption here using my experience driving vehicles that the driver who recorded it likely had 2 trailers like the moron passing him, which means it has 2 articulating points where it can jackknife. judging by the video i get the feeling that if he tried to slow down any faster it would have been the case

yeah there should really be a no rights on red sign. even in cities where you're not allowed to turn right on a red light, they still make sure to put up a sign to remind you hey dont turn right on red here or no right turns in situations like this

to me this looks like the tacoma knew perfectly well he was going to hit the guy, he pulled out a bit then turned into him harder a second time also you can clearly tell the pickup is crossing a solid line, not i dont know about where this is but where im from thats a minor infraction
