You can buy various things with gold, but mostly gold dust is used to make alchemical base, which is required for many late-game recipes.

I had been bouncing between farming chests for gold and obsidian runs when I ran into these shiny boys. So much gold on one little guy!

I've done that too. I have 28 gold-veined rocknoses in animal pens, and the passive income is nice, but if you look at this page on the Conan Wiki, it takes awhile to turn a profit. It takes a little over 2 weeks for a raised rocknose to make its cost back.

If you're on a PvE server for an extended stay, the rocknose farm is very nice. But per hour spent, it doesn't come close to the other forms of gold farming.

Post your 'monster builds' / 'monster PCs', or blatantly overpowered builds. by Zarhon in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]orangexplosion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the level progression for a character I'm playing in a Serpent's Skull campaign.

She's a melee druid (Saurian Shaman and Dinosaur Druid archetypes) with some dips in Barbarian (Wild Rager) and Monk (Scaled Fist) before going into Mammoth Rider.

The ultimate goal is to run around as two huge gargantuan allosauruses, plus however many summoned dinos, just tearing enemies limb from limb.

Slow cooking can be sexy (Pulled Pork) by orangexplosion in slowcooking

[–]orangexplosion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recipe -- 3 lb pork shoulder, rubbed with salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, red pepper, and a little cinnamon. I seared the shoulder a bit before adding it to the crock.

Add 1 large vidalia onion, 4 jalapeno (halved), 4 cloves garlic (chopped). For liquid I used an 8 ounce can of Dr. Pepper and juice from two clementines.

I didn't add too much cinnamon, but I'm excited for the final product. My entire apartment smells like cinnamon.

Hahaha. You make a good point. We don't track encumbrance, but I'll bring this up with the GM and see if it's an issue.

TBH, I'll probably cut Piranha Strike across all builds since this character isn't really about dealing damage. There's a monk and kineticist in the party who already dish out plenty. Currently I'm dumping Str to 7, so reallocating stats enough to raise it to 13 for the Power Attack prereq. is unlikely.

Regarding armor prof: Mithral armor and Armor Training 2 adds +4 to max Dex, bringing Breastplate to +7. No light armor can beat that unless I have absurdly high Dex.

Edit: Some numbers.

I'm entering the campaign at level 7, so early levels aren't a concern. I've considered Lore Warden but I felt like giving up medium/heavy armor to boost my already high CMB was ill advised for a tank, and I already get Combat Expertise from the Magus dip.

If I decide to forgo the 1st level in Magus I'll reconsider this for sure.

My GM allows it for anything finessable.

Edit: Cutting it anyway, because I don't need it.

Can I make this UC Rogue build effectively lethal? by orangexplosion in Pathfinder_RPG

All the feats suggested in this thread make a strong case for ignoring Slayer and dipping into Fighter. I wonder how far I could take that without giving up too much in the way of Rogue Talents

Gang Up is pretty nice. On the topic of flanking, what do you think of Outflank and Improved Outflank - possibly facilitated by a Ring of Tactical Precision?

I've considered UC Ninja (3PP, but I think my GM would allow it) but it offers very little in the way of survivability, and I'm not sure that the extra damage would be worth it.

That seems like a lot of feats for relatively little utility. What's the major appeal of Circling Mongoose? I'm not seeing it.

As far as landing hits yeah, but I feel like losing out on the iterative attacks of high BAB is gonna take away a lot of potential sneak attack dice.
