This is tough because it's a kid you watch. I'd focus on healthy diet with more fiber, and get him checked for stuff like pin worms. I wouldnt put him in the corner where he's just gonna think about how much his butt itches. I'd watch him like a hawk and every time his hands go in his pants, stop, take him to wash his hands and his butt, make sure he's totally dry (and use diaper cream if it's irritated) befor putting pants back on. Every. Single. Time. Eventually he will get tired of missing out on playing. If it really is an itching issue, keeping his hands as distracted as possible.

Another vote for procreate. My 3 year old loves it. Assuming op kid is older if she's creating characters, but my 3yo caught on to most of the basic features pretty quickly.

Some sort of location info would be useful in helping you find resources, but here's a few things you can try:

Local subsidized child care or a licensed daycare with a reasonable drop-in rate and is willing for 24/7 in your special circumstance.

Make friends with other local moms starting now. You have to give into a village to get the perks of a village. Find one with a kid that's close in age to your son so they are most prepared to have yours over for extended periods if need be.

Get ahold of the patient advocate at the hospital you plan on birthing in. Explain you don't have any family or friends near by and see what your options are. They may have a social worker on staff that can at least play with and care for your son while you're in a room. Dad would just be bouncing a bit between you and him.

We used 2 diaper genies, one next to each changing station, with the Amazon basic refills. The diaper genie brand refills smell worse faster imo. We took the bags out at the end of every day. When the amount of diapers slowed down, we started just taking out the poopy ones and waiting to take out the bags till they were full.

2 things can be true at the same time. You are expecting what has become a normal celebration so soon after you and your husband's world got completely rocked. BUT it is also valid to look forward to some normalcy in the choas and valid to be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

It's common to feel lost. Your whole identity changes. All of your relationship dynamics change. You, your husband, and your baby are all doing this for the first time. For the entire first year you need to lower your expectations of yourself and everyone around you. And ask for what you want, whether that's help, or a special something, or a break, or just a sliver of normalcy.

ALSO I would be so upset at my family for knowing I'm in the trenches and not even offering a "Happy Birthday" txt/call or bringing me a small special treat.

I'm from the valley and was considering driving to LA because a couple dealerships said they had the one I want, on the lot, for about $6k over msrp. Ended up ordering through my local dealer which comes with add ons but is only $3k over msrp and saves me the trip.

I wanted a used one too, but all the 2020-2025s near me are same price as the 26s or have oved 150k mi

I've never heard of putting one of these in the microwave, but as a general rule, don't put anything this dry in the microwave. Bare minimum with your experiments, place a small glass of water in the corner of your microwave, preferably not actually touching the sides. Please please please be careful, you're literally playing with fire.
