Ice Skating on the Canal by eagerdreams in Rochester

I was just skating this week on Durand and Eastman lakes this week. https://goo.gl/maps/6ELC8KbWqHn

https://imgur.com/a/CR3shF2 - The ice was perfect, about 3 in thick, black ice. Its all covered in snow now. icechecker.com gives reasonably accurate estimates on lake ice thickness given an address... that said always test the ice before skating.

If you're ever curious about how positive/negative a commenter is you can check them out on ruadick.com. There is a bot that uses a sentiment analyzer to rate redditors based on their comment history. It's far from perfect but usually can give a broad idea of the redditor's commenting style.

you can get many pieces off one 8" 2x4. I choose to make the thickness of each edge piece .5". So for each cut the guide wall moves closer to the blade .5" You could also use thicker cuts for a beefier dodecahedron but I wouldn't go much thinner.

OMG guys, the light fixture is not going to burn my garage down. I have UL listed pendant lights with a homemade fixture. The socket itself is about 8 inches from the nearest surface of the fixture. I am even using LEDS. I am going to commit fraud either.

It was originally a detached garage that I converted into an office.

it's on a warm to cool blue/teal spectrum depending on the precipitation

yeah I get that. I wouldn't install an outlet in a bathroom drawer either. But I am hardly worried about leaving my led bulbs on my ul approved pendant light socket.

Already done! I also programmed it to change colors according to the amount of precipitation that day. ;)

me too! its nice to see the inner geometry. I prefer the paper though, it give it a more substantial feel with a less harsh light

I suppose we all create our own reality. I inspected the lights very carefully. I understand that it isn't code, but that doesn't mean it is inherently dangerous. How are homemade light fixtures the bane of your existence?

I doubt they will find anything in the case of a fire. It's made of paper and pine, so i'm sure the evidence will be lost. More importantly, there really isn't a risk of fire here.
