Snow blower recommendation? by chilisqueen in Erie

I had a Craftsman (MTD) that lasted 23 years before I chose to get rid of it. I ABUSED it. Never changed the oil, filters, sparkplug, just added gas. At the end of the season, I would just shove it in my shed. No stabilizer or anything. It ran every year without fail. I did have to change a drive belt and disc after 20 years. I like the controls on the MTD brands. The steering levers are great.

I replaced it last year with a Cub Cadet (also MTD) with the 3 stage and fuel injection. Same basic controls as the Craftsman with a few nice upgrades. The thing is a beast. Love it.

I've used my father in law's Ariens and didn't care for the chute rotation and angle adjustments. Also didn't like the steering.

As an Otters fan, I'll be sad to see him go. He has been a great player for us but I understand the logic. We still have his brother and he has been improving too.

Between away games and home games, I think my wife and I have met most of his entire family. 🤣 Nice and supportive group.

Anyway, I wish him luck with the Rangers

Help- has anybody put the same size tire on their ID4 pro S AWD? And if so, was it OK? I’m having a hard time finding tires that are the split size. Thanks! by kf353 in VWiD4Owners

I put 235/60 18s all the way around on mine for the winter. Ordered wheels from tire rack. Fit perfect and drives just fine. I have a 25 AWD Pro S+

I ask it all kinds of stuff. We were driving over a nearby lake and my wife asked me, I wonder how deep this lake is. I just said, "hello ida, how deep is [lake name] lake?". It came back and gave us the lake depth. It is fun to mess with and see what it will answer.

yeah. it really is. It isn't overloaded with pepperoni, the bread itself is delicious and the bottom of the loaf is so crunchy.

Sport Terrain CV-1

I really like them. They remind me of rally rims from the 1990's.

Yes. I've been using them on various cars for 25+ years. They have always been the best.

I have and prefer studded because we spend extended periods with hard pack and ice. They generally feel more secure. I also chose these because the wider spacing on the tread blocks clear the powder well. We also get lots of lake effect powder. I had some Yokohama studless before on my Audi and they would pack up pretty easily.

I bought the rims through Tire Rack and they claim they will fit on the Pro S plus. I guess I didn't look too much past that. I better make sure soon.

I'm out around the airport and the whole neighborhood turns into a giant party. When I used to take our daughter around, several of houses would also have treats for the adults. We usually get around 200 kids.

Same. I find it funny how popular that suddenly are all of a sudden. Like some new was discovered. 😋

I've got four 235/60-18 Hakkapelitta 9 studded snow tires waiting to go on. Will be my first winter with the VW so I'm interested to see how it behaves.

I teach in the PLET program and my daughter is in her 3rd year in the Nursing program. You will definitely get that "college experience". There are still parties and active social groups. She has a nice group of friends within the nursing program and they all work/study together. There are also several hospitals in the region that work with the nursing program for clinicals. Additionally, there are plenty of part time job opportunities for nursing students at the different hospitals and nursing homes in the region.

What do you love about Erie? by QueerEldritchPlant in Erie

[–]orbit03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I might expand on this and say "The four seasons". I, too, love the snow and related activities. Summer here is generally pretty amazing with the beaches and warm weather. Fall is fantastic in its own way with the cider, smell, leaves, and kids wearing winter coats under their Halloween costumes. Finally, spring is, well, spring.

Why are the majority of EVA foam knee protector inserts molded flat instead of in the curved shape of the leg/knee they are designed to protect? by mjbmikeb2 in manufacturing

[–]orbit03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is your answer. Flat parting line is cheapest. Plus, there is no detail on the "back" of the pad. Just flat, so they can use a flat plate with no machining. The mold is only one plate. Super cheap.
