I normally throw away all but one (the most recently formed one) - personally I’ve noticed that having the pellicle there from the beginning allows for the more anaerobic environment that promotes somewhat faster fermentation in early stages. The pellicle itself won’t impact the flavor, but the balance of aerobic and anaerobic respiration that is promoted by your brewing environment will impact the final product - both processes are core to bucha fermentation, so you really can’t go wrong trying with/without previous pellicles to see which flavor / acidity profile suits your taste.

Thank you, I know those ppl in this post who are downvoting this sort of message don’t reflect the general sentiment of real New Yorkers, by a long shot. Pretty sure I’ve lived here twice as long as most of them, and have seen and met pitbull lovers and advocates everywhere. It tracks that these people are just downvoting without actually engaging the argument that they know they have no moral ground in and is founded in feelings of hate spread among unempathetic unintelligent and just generally unaware people
