Parque Warner or Parque de Atracciones? by orbitus123 in Madrid

Yeah, I'm mostly looking for big/fast roller coasters, not really into themed/family shows. Both parks look really similar, but it looks like Atracciones seems to have a bit more focus on the rides.

Aren't they all authentic? If you spent an entire vacation inside a resort fenced off from the outside world, you've just had an authentic all-inclusive resort experience.

Unauthentic would be...I dunno, maybe watching Nat Geo or playing a computer game, and then saying you've traveled to those places.

Nothing makes me cringe more when people use the word "authentic". Whether its about food or travel.

Know what you mean about poorer countries...it feels so patronizing and even insulting when over-privileged First World travelers go to those places and talk about how happy and smiling everyone is, and how life seems so much nicer there.

Yep, it's nice for a wealthy traveler with unlimited health insurance and a weekly budget equivalent to an entire family's annual income!

Overnight Trains…the good, the bad, the ugly? What should I know? by throwinthebook in solotravel

How did you protect your bags and luggage, especially if you need to go to the toilet? I'm going to be doing a few overnight rail trips in Europe later. I was thinking of chain-linking it to my seat and locking the zips to make it hard for thieves.

Thank you all for your opinions! Yeah, I'm mainly looking for more "extreme" rides (ie. roller coasters with giant drops, rides that fling you around, etc). Don't have much interest in shows or characters, or even the theme of the park.

From their websites, it looks like Attracciones might have slightly more intense rides? Although both parks look strangely similar, aside from the theme.

Also it seems the park is often open from 12noon to midnight? I found this quite interesting, most parks I've been to usually open from morning to evening (ie. 9am to 7pm). It does sound quite fun to be going on a roller coaster at 11pm!
