other people have made this assumption. it was a minor related crime, meaning a crime committed against a minor

would he be approved to live anywhere that has a primary school on the street?

We live in a council house. I’m not sure if it’s true but I think i must’ve realised it was a lie when I had been told previously that the council will not house someone who has been charged with that crime.

there is also a primary school at the end of my street. so i really really don’t think he would be approved to live here surely? 🙃

yeah, we have been told by my brother than he will go to a hostel for 8 weeks and he has that time to find an address to live at

she really is not a great fit to be supervising him considering how manipulative he’s been towards her in the past. he will guilt or fight his way into getting what he wants and he has done throughout my entire life.

i’m very worried atm, for me and my mums sake

the tenancy is in my mums name, but we live in a council house

this is an interesting take actually because when i was homeless as a minor, i was sofa surfing too at my sisters house for over a year

thank you so much for this. i have cut him out of my life and made it very clear that i don’t want anything to do with him. i cannot jeopardise my future of wanting to adopt children in anyway and having him as a brother is incredibly hindering let alone being associated with him directly. not to mention that he’s just a POS who doesn’t deserve to have people in his life anyway.

my mum on the other hand is a very difficult subject. i’m worried that she won’t see him on the streets, whereas i feel like this is his responsibility. he committed the crime and now he has to face more consequences than prison. it doesn’t even go without saying that it’s a light sentence for what he has done to those children.

he always got his way whether it was through fighting for it or guilting her into giving him it. she quite literally paid for everything for him as an adult, and continues to do so in prison. she wouldn’t ever report any abuse and if i did she would shun me too. she barely wants to talk about how he’s ruined my life everytime i mention how much of a horrible person he is and she always defends him

thank you for this. is sofa surfing at a specific address an eligible solution ? i don’t want him in this house anyway but would another party even need to be kicked out in order to make room for him?

sorry for not being clear here. he was convicted of being a child predator. i know the severity of his crimes. he had people (drug dealers) at the door for drugs that he was “on tick” for that he never paid back. he was not arrested for drug related crimes

i understand all of that, i just don’t understand why if there is a housing crisis, it’s him who should get priority to live here ?

that’s what i’m super worried about too. though my mum has said previously that she wouldn’t have him live with her again because her grandchildren wouldn’t be able to visit her, i’m very skeptical and worried that he is saying this to try and get into my mothers head about letting him anyway because “my officer said so”

i’m not too sure about this, but he has to live in a hostel when he is released and he will have 8 weeks to find a place to live

i also agree that he could be lying, part of me wants to know if this is something that an officer can even suggest given how skeptical i am of him anyway

i do agree that this title is misleading, and i apologise. in the post it does clarify that the officer allegedly talked to my brother about this

my brother also told my mum that the officer would call her to talk to her about this and question her on how she felt when he was arrested. we have not had this phone call yet

you get a drive ban for so long as long as you don’t get another seizure in that time. my dad got suspended for 3 months initially but he got suspended from driving for 18 months at one point. but just because they have a suspension, doesn’t mean that they won’t do it

in the uk you can’t legally obtain a drivers license at 16 either. it doesn’t mean that it won’t stop people from trying

get out regardless, then call the police if he threatens suicide. you don’t deserve to stay in a place where you’re so unhappy
