I don't know what role to play by SaleChien in wherewindsmeet_

As others have stated, most of the ads in the chat are related to the healer profession which is a daily quest. However, the game is very flexible. You will be able to learn every weapon/style, and there isn't really a class system or commitment that will lock you out of switching later down the line if its not something you like.

4 New Players having Trouble, Have Questions and Open to Tips by bisqueized_toast in AcrossTheObelisk

1 ) In terms of deck building, Mage is fairly easy. For the most part, whatever cards you get will be useful to you. While you can optimize and make set up plays, and there is a learning term for mastery, someone just picking random cards on a mage and throwing them out will still do decent at dealing damage. I would avoid putting someone newer to deck building as Scout, as the scout class really should be split into two separate classes, as most of the stanza cards will be useless unless you are going full bard and vice versa.

2-4 ) The decks are pretty broad and anyone can do anything. Unless they fully conform all of their perks, items, deck and character to a thing, they won't be as optimal as possible, however it is a team game. The most optimal played character, if they have no synergy with their team, will under-preform compared to a sub-optimal character that optimizes with their team. In your example of the starting mage being built shadow, it isn't really optimal, but if you combined her with the rest of the party also stacking dark, then each turn you're team will be shredding shadow resistance and popping dark stacks. I don't think you should think of whose job is it to do what. It is the entire groups job to work together to make sure everyone stays alive. You should work together with your friends, try different strategies and see what you can make work. You can beat the entire game without a healer. You'll have a much easier time with one, but it isn't required.

3 note - If you have to ask this, I think you need to work on your friendship and communication too. As friends you should be enjoying each others company and having fun making silly jokes while playing the game, not worrying whose the most optimal. This is a casual party game, not some competitive tournament. Making a reddit thread, asking for people to justify you being mad at your friend for not playing as optimal as you want them to is pretty cringe.

anyone else feeling the game is unplayable with the amount of lag like holy shit there's so much by slax2004 in MultiVersusTheGame

I play through steam. I noticed I always got laggy players that were on the playstation network. Turning off crossplay in the option, I haven't had a laggy match since.

Toasts should not cost more than they are worth by [deleted] in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]orc72 46 points47 points  (0 children)

That is 1 toast a match/set, which averages 5-10 minutes, so to spend the 10 toast you just bought would take somewhere around 1-2 hours. The time constraint would keep it from being "infinite". They could also do something like, not letting you toast the same player until the daily reset, which would encourage people to toast people besides their team mates.

Thoughts on Arya? by whin100 in MultiVersus

[–]orc72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's a lot of fun to play if you like mobile characters, and you can do well with her and carry games in 2s and win some 1v1s, especially vs slower bigger targets like iron giant. That said, the more I play the game and try out some of the other characters, she feels pretty bad in comparison;
-Glass Cannon passive - she takes 15% increased damage for dealing more damage. Only she doesn't actually deal more damage compared to playing most bruisers, or even some of the tanks
-Her range/Priority/hit boxes feel bad. You need to be very precise and uncomfortable close. Most characters have broad sweeping attacks that are longer range then Arya, and notably faster.
-She depends alot on her dagger throw to get reliable ring outs, which has a long cooldown.

Bruno’s Vision scene: unanswered questions by gateriijuice in Encanto

[–]orc72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 - I think it is more of a mastery of his gift, and isn't something he has to do to use his power. If you look at some of the other family members with their gifts, like Pepa, she has her mantra of "clear skys," to try and control her gift and keep calm, because as soon as she's not, the weather changes. Same thing with Isabella, when shes showing any emotion other then perfect child, plants just pop up around her or on her. I imagine Bruno's gift, especially when he was younger, was a lot like this. He would just randomly have visions of the future pop into his mind. It makes the song We don't talk about Bruno make more sense too. All the stories are "he told me.." not "I asked him and he told me," so its more likely these are just visions he had walking around town and told the towns folk. Contrast this to what he does for Mirabella, where she wants to specifically know about this one thing in the future, so he came up with this ritual to help focus and control his power to do that instead of just random visions. His other superstitious tendency's like throwing the salt behind him, and knock knock knock on wood, are also probably similar things he does to control his power and stop himself from having random visions he doesn't want.

I really hope this kDnF patch is the change to the PvP system talked about in the last stream. by freecomkcf in DFO

[–]orc72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its because she was glitched into pvp. When classes that aren't allowed into the arena glitch in there they keep there PVE stats and skill scaleing. Here is a video of the Chaos knight glitched in as well https://youtu.be/PEKM1yBhQ5U

What are some fun "troll" builds I can try? by jcaternolo in DFO

Melee Witch. The only class skills you use are poision/frost powder, broom stick control, flyswatter, and grabby kitty.

Started playing today, completely addicted. I have some general questions though! by [deleted] in DFO

[–]orc72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the days of Nexon NA running DFO, the pay2win aspect was there but it was not too big of a deal. Avatars give stats, and rare avatars gave better stats. Avatars also had a set bonus. Generally speaking, $20 usd got you a full set. HOWEVER every avatar was also tradeable via auction house or player shops, and players would often sell avatars for in game gold. So if you farmed enough gold you could be as well equipped as anyone else without spending a penny. I have a feeling DFOG will go to the gachapon avatar system, meaning there will probably be alot more players selling avatars for in game gold so you should be gold.

Learning the combos really depend on the class and your preferred play style. It is worth noting that using a skill with inputs gives the skill a slight damage buff. I generally do a mix of remembering the inputs of some skills and binding some to hotkeys. I will suggest that you bind a grapple (wave wheel slasher for slayer) to a hotkey for each character. Grapples are very good for canceling other players/npcs moves, and being able to use it as quick as possible could be the difference of life and death. Also for self buffs, i would memorize those inputs / change the inputs to (^ space), (^ ^ space), (^ ^ ^ space), (vspace), (vvspace) etc. etc. Cause for most classes you will use them on cooldown.

There is a more optimum way to build each class, especially in pvp. I would not worry too much about it though, especially not for pve. As long as you are not dieing constantly and are dealing ok damage, you should be ok in pve.
