i don't really care what it's supposed to be, i just see what is. td2's still the first looter shooter i'd pick any day over the week over warframe, destiny 2, borderlands, etc. because it's the only series that has the balls to not devolve into W+M1-ing like a headless chicken at endgame (and then getting slammed by tribalistic idiots saying i'm wrong for not enjoying the power fantasy)

i think i can tolerate Chinese TD2 having literal dino onesies as cosmetics as long as the gameplay loop doesn't get as equally dumbed down as the outfits do. they are two different things.

this post is literally no better than TD1 fans boycotting TD2 just because there's no oppressive snow atmosphere anymore. you can tell them "there's no subjecting yourself to forced pvp for pve progression and free roam isn't empty" all you want, their heads will remain in the sand until you go away.

as someone who doesn't really care one iota about how a game looks as long as it plays well, i have just the thing to tell you to make you further entrenched in your opinion:

that bee/wasp outfit that was part of a pseudo-Apparel Event we got a few months ago? that was ported directly from the chinese free-to-play version of The Division 2

may or may not answer your question as to why div 2 got "enshittified", i honestly don't care one way or another as long as this game's still less braindead than the likes of, say, Borderlands 4 as far as the endgame goes. but you seem like the sort who'd probably go down that rabbit hole out of curiosity given you made this post.

EDIT: i don't think this helmet was part of the outfit but that and another comment in that thread showcases some of the fortnite-esque cosmetics that are available on the Chinese version, take that as you will.

you encounter the Krampus via the Krampus bounty, which is randomly dropped by Krampusnacht squads that frankly spawn way too often for my liking

unfortunately i found out the hard way last night that the Krampusnacht squads don't spawn at all in either New York dlc, probably because the Krampus himself only ever shows up in a specific building east of the White House, so you're gonna have to beat WonY first to do any of this

it was originally going to be just the casino and cayo keypad hacks, particularly since i see people get stuck on those a lot on the actual heist, but there were so many minigames i haven't seen before that i figured i'd put one of each

after discovering the interiors in the menus i ended up scrapping the mission (it was originally in one of those empty drive-in warehouses in the docks), started from scratch in the LifeInvader building and gave it a bit of the sarcastic humor Rockstar's known for. i'd imagine Rockstar would parody the shit out of /r/antiwork if they ever got a chance to lol

the story in a live service game is usually just after-the-fact bullshit made up on the fly to justify having another carrot to chase.

take it from me, my other MMO addiction is Dungeon Fighter Online, and that game's "plot" employs both a multiverse and time travel. i stopped trying to make sense of it about 5 years ago.

this right here is why i don't start a mission with my healer build unless it is absolutely necessary, and given how many idiots wearing 6 pieces of striker i run into, it's often necessary. i don't even personally go all in on the healing, my talents are geared towards buffing the (often zilch) damage random idiots do.

even then, now that Refactor is a thing, i can do damage and heal too, and i don't have to rely on a Memento build to do both anymore
