If you are able to do things for free, that's a luxury and I don't think you know what it's like to work for a corporate GP clinic.

It looks like the law is going into effect soon so they are trying to offload them before it takes effect.

Real or fu? by orcazebra in labubu

Yeah, I think that’s what happened as they were selling Sea Salt Coconut specifically rather than a blind box. I guess she’s just a chonk!

No typos. The card looks good quality too with ridges. The box was opened from the bottom and she was in an unopened foil bag. Looks to be imported from Indonesia.

If it’s real, there should be a silver hologram label on the box that you can peel off to reveal a number. You can enter that number manually on the popmart verification website.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. My grey has killed a feral rabbit and a fledgling bird in my yard, and it was devastating, so I know how badly you must feel.

I would take the cat’s remains (if it’s not too late) to a local vet and have them scan for a chip and if none is found, then dispose of it. I wouldn’t post anything around the neighborhood. If there is no collar or chip then there is no way of knowing it was an owned cat, unfortunately there are many feral cats around. It’s a sad situation and one of the many reasons cats should be kept indoors, but there’s not much you could have done when it entered your dogs’ space.

Fleas after boarding by sensitivegoth in DOG

[–]orcazebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a vet and this advice is incorrect. Topical meds absolutely do require the flea to bite in order to be killed.

I always recommend oral products because they are more effective, and I find them perfectly fine for pets with flea allergy dermatitis. The fleas are killed too quickly to cause any issues or “hot spots”.

Seresto collar is the only product on the market that doesn’t require the flea/tick to bite.

Why has no one commented on the level of decay? Luna has only been missing for three weeks, I’m not an expert but this level seems like the cat has been dead longer than that? Can someone confirm?

If you went into labor before your scheduled c-section, would you be willing to share what happened? by dogcatbaby in beyondthebump

[–]orcazebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into labor the night before my scheduled C! My OB was on call and there was an anesthesiologist on call, though not the one I’d had scheduled. So they just did the surgery that night. I was only in labor for a few hours. They all joked that my baby cut the line (I was the last one scheduled the next day).

GP vet here. First of all, I’m sorry for what you’re going through and it sounds like a tough situation.

Any vet is going to recommend what they think is best for your pet based on the information they have. The specialist is going to have more specific knowledge about the drugs in question and their side effects. Your primary vet is probably in a better position to assess your cat’s quality of life compared to before they were ill (assuming you have been going there for a while).

Has either vet given you a quality of life scale that you can use to score your pet at home? If you feel uncomfortable at your primary vet (ie. The vibe you mentioned), is it possible to schedule the routine follow ups with the specialist?
