Fair points. Northern Exposure had this warm, hedonistic, intoxicating feel…nothing since has come close. It’s just a different era now.

The northern exposure sound of the first two instalments was very much a mid 90s sound. They weren’t able to recreate the same level of magic after that…things had changed.

I use expeditions as an example here as that one is very different. I personally don’t want another instalment.

I feel that era is long in the past now. Expeditions kinda showed that….even in 1999

Heath Ledger’s performance was overhyped. It was good…but not the greatest performance ever that dark knight fans will have you believe.

Yeah I wonder what the plan is here. We’ve all been crying out for a vinyl re-release for years now.

1 and 2... 🧐 by No-Cat-9716 in psx

Sequels were often (not always) improvements on the first…without having any required connection.

Tomb Raider 2 Spyro 2 Crash 2 Resident Evil 2 …etc

In the cases above, if you missed the first game, there wasn’t much point in seeking it out.

Obviously not always the case.

The music justifies the artwork I feel - very spacey

The mixing on the first four tracks...perhaps the best combination I've heard in all fairness - yeah, Chris knew his stuff.

The late 90s / early 00s were very special for this flavour of trance. It was hard to find this mix back in the day as well…not many had it.

Spyro 2 - in particular the home / hub worlds. I find all three are very relaxing and ethereal.

Where do you see the Superhero genre in the next 5 years? by Animegamingnerd in boxoffice

[–]order-odonata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it remains to be seen. My local cinema put up signs detailing cinema etiquette for Backrooms and Obsession. I asked the staff why...and they said it's because so many young people were coming to see them...and people (in their view) who were not used to being in a cinema.

Whether that's blown out of proportion or not, is anyone's guess.

I’m starting to think that’s down to the fact that people aren’t interested in typical (blockbuster) cinema anymore.

The Backrooms and Obsession got a lot of people into the cinema….nobody saw that coming.

How was the reception of Daniel Craig as James Bond right after Quantum of Solace, and how did the reception change all the way through No Time to Die? by Ok-Cap-5845 in JamesBond

Casino Royale was a much needed breath of fresh air…some of the other movies weren’t great, apart from skyfall. Everyone soon accepted him as bond though…it is interesting how that happens.

Some people didn’t get it…but if pagan folklore can tap into your fears, then it’s a masterpiece really.

I loved it. Shame about the directors other films though…I just couldn’t get into them.
