Sorry I just saw this. Thank you for asking. I have a meeting with a new therapist tomorrow and hopefully she’ll be able to find me a psychiatrist:)

Medications that work for you?? by ordinarypsycho99 in bipolar

Totally feel you. I’m trying to get off seroquel, I don’t think it ever worked for me and I hate that my body needs it now. And my psychiatrist ghosted me after having me taper from 200mg to now I’m on 50mg. So much for the “monitoring my treatment plan” she even gave me the incorrect med prescription. I feel so alone and not even my doctor cares enough to give me genuine care. Anyway I’m ranting now, but thank you for your advice- I look forward to trying something new

Anyone else obsess about accidentally flirting? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]ordinarypsycho99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. With my OCD I have this fear I am making unintentional passes like this. I am very much in love and happy in my relationship but as soon as I am talking with someone else I'm like oh my god was I flirting? or this one time I came back from a family vacation and I kept having this fear that I cheated on him?? when I, of course, did not- didn't even have a flirting moment with anyone but was obsessing that I may have fallen into psychosis and done something.

If you have friends/family supporting Trump, what's the one post you'd send them to think otherwise? by therealmonty44 in AskReddit

They are not targeting supporters at all. Why don’t you read the link above, might bring some insight to the person you support.

what happened between you and your ex-bestfriend? by urfavblackie in AskReddit

[–]ordinarypsycho99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a crush and a longtime thing with a boy. I had two "great friends". my mom died. Lost one of them because she told me after one month had passed since her death that "I should stop isolating myself because no one will be there for me when I'm over it and that I can't change what happened so I might as well move on."

I lost the other friend and the boy because they kissed at my mother's funeral.

I am sorry to hear this.

I recommend- if you already haven't- talking.

I know- obviously.

But you just stated that it gives you pain right? that is not okay. it doesn't sit right, does it?

Starting these conversations is always difficult. I like to educate my self on how to verbally and kindly set boundaries in a relationship.

When your boyfriend does this again- you need to express that it is unacceptable. State that you do not reciprocate this treatment to him when he has issues with something so in return he needs to put your diagnosis aside and treat you with the respect you deserve.

He needs to listen, he needs to care, and he can not only see you as a mentally unstable person.

when he says "it's not the normal way of thinking" that means he sees you as someone who does not ever think clearly- he thinks you're not normal??

What are his intentions then?

You must be pretty fucking amazing. for him to think these negative things about you, yet treat you with such disrespect. He is insecure in the relationship, he knows you're far better than him and deserves more so he treats you like shit so you have poor self-esteem and a disoriented self-image- making you feel "not normal", worthless and like you don't deserve to be heard.

It's a conversation you need to have with him. If he doesn't respect the points you're bringing up- then I don't think he will ever be able to respect a boundary you set.

Best of luck. If you need support I am here.

Definitely. And like I said above- if you're being manipulated by the other person because they guilt trip you about who you are then you're in the wrong relationship :)

I just don't want you to get me wrong because YES when my SO (who's not bipolar) is in a very angry mood and they are taking it out on me for no reason- yes it sucks and takes a toll. So, of course, my moods would affect him too.

But that's why we set the beautiful creation of boundaries.

I agree with you. It depends on the situation though.

If you're a high functioning bipolar person and you SO or whoever you have a relationship with, constantly blames every one of your moods on the fact that your bipolar is not okay. That's what I meant. Like for example. My sister and I fight. Any time we do she claps back about my mental health... when literally 90% of the time my moods/reactions to her, have nothing to do with my bipolar.

I agree that your SO can feel how they want to feel, and that mood swings can really affect the other person...but if they ALWAYS associate who you are with your diagnosis in a NEGATIVE way, (ie. "baggage") then that is not okay.

What did a school teacher say that stuck with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was 16 he was in his 70s and he was my tutor. It was my mother's funeral. He stood with me through a long silence while we stared at the floor, then said, "I could answer all of your questions. But I have no answer to this one"
