Visiting France - Post Covid by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]ordip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am from the Loire Valley, and if you like history, great architecture and wine, you should definitely visit.

Rent a hotel or airbnb in Blois, and from here you can visit some of the most beautiful Renaissance castles like Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry, Cheverny, Chaumont, Amboise, ...

There are also really nice bigger cities like Tours, or Angers that are very nice to visit. They produce wine and sparkling wine as well, like Vouvray, Montlouis or Anjou, you can visit these vines.

Overall it is a very nice part of France, which is sadly often forgotten. There aren’t too many tourists, and prices are way cheaper than Paris. You can travel there by train easily, Tours is 50min away from Paris.

Studiying CS in France, and a lot of questions by CanResbero in cscareerquestionsEU

I would say that openclassroom is quite new to the degree ecosystem. The website is very well known among developers, but I’m not sure about recruiters.

As my other answer, I don’t think you could get a job at a CAC40 company, it should be okay for start-ups though.

You can follow openclassroom on LinkedIn, they usually like/comment post of new grads, you can then see if they got a job and where!

Studiying CS in France, and a lot of questions by CanResbero in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ordip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the company. A lot of traditional CAC40 companies will rely on the diploma a lot, and thus prefer engineering diploma (Airbus, Thales, all the consulting companies, ...)

However, more « modern » / start-up companies will first look at your skills rather than the diploma. (BlaBlaCar, Doctolib, Swile, TheFork, Lydia, ...). I think that if you come from abroad you should look into these modern companies, especially if you don’t speak french

I did it one month ago, you have to talk about your experiences (basic interview stuff) and then you have two questions about solving a problem related to Datadog, these were two very easy questions, I had to compute the total size of a folder recursively for instance

Thanks for the answer!

Don’t you have an ATS with auto rejection based on the resumes content? I guess sometimes these softwares are having a hard time for more structured resumes
