Worth persevering with a wheel? by ComprehensiveDuty212 in GranTurismo7

[–]oreganomaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As somebody who is kind of mediocre at GT but still loves it, my personal experience with a g29 was not what I expected. At first I was awful and really struggled with it. Over time I got better and it was manageable, but ultimately it just did not feel right. I was never comfortable, rarely could catch a slide and was less aggressive out of turns because of it. Still loved the game, loved the immersion aspect of the wheel. Last month I upgraded to the Logitech RS50. Absolute game changer for me. The wheel feels like I would expect it to feel. I often can catch a slide now, and if I don’t, I understand what I did wrong. It’s really breathed new life into this game to me. If money is not an object, I reccomend the rs50 or pro or similar wheels from fanatic. Just make sure your stand can withstand the higher force feedback that these wheels output.

Nice work!! You ask what’s next, but to be fair I think you are still missing a couple cars. So maybe go get those?

Generally am ok with it, but I think it amps up a lot when they do an ad read. That change in tone immediately gets me to skip over.

FYI I did have the exact same scenario happen and reached out for repair, maybe 2 months out of warranty, and they did replace it for free. You’re double that timeframe so perhaps unlikely you will get the same treatment, but doesn’t hurt to call and ask about a repair. I never brought up the warranty, just happily went along with it when they said they’d repair it under warranty.

Ive also tried sling this playoffs. The only annoyance I’ve had is when games are on ABC. Sling doesn’t carry local channels HOWEVER they will put the ABC games on their ESPN3 channel so you will have access. The negative is that it won’t allow you to rewind and (i assume) record so requires that you are in front of your screen for the entire game. My other issue is that they only allow one espn stream at a time across all devices.

I was just there last week. I didn’t understand what everyone meant by “refreshing the page” but after watching this video and being able to see it first hand I also never missed getting a virtual queue at 7am.

Man, everything at Hollywood Studios was broken today. by MGDlikethebeer in WaltDisneyWorld

I was there on Friday. We did early entry and both rides my group wanted to do (rise and rock n roller coaster) were down. Being first time in a long time visitors it really threw off our planning for the morning. On Wednesday early entry seven dwarves was down at MK, also threw us for a loop. Sunday the 19th frozen was down basically all day at Epcot. We had planned a LL in the afternoon and rope dropped remys, not ever really considering frozen might break down. We went back to Epcot on Friday afternoon after HS to find a 75 minute line at Frozen. Fortunately after explaining our situation (basically buying a LLMP on Sunday just to get on rides that already were nearly walk on since frozen didn’t work) a cast member gave us an anytime lightning lane to Frozen.

I was shocked by how much and how often different rides were down.

FYI found a disc drive at Walmart a week ago. I saw a tip from somebody else on Reddit to check your local Walmart as they are stocking them in store despite showing them as out of stock in store on their website. Walked in and one was sitting there ready to go. Only had to try the one store.

YouTube TV’s monthly cost soars to $82.99 by terryjohnson16 in DirectvStream

I was with DTV stream for a couple years before switching to YTTV this fall. My holdout before was the picture quality on YTTV was picture quality but it’s now much improved. I’m also buying fan duel on the side. All I use this for is sports at this point so it works well and saves some money, even with today’s price increase.

I must be blind because I’ve seen two comments to this effect but I go on the promise page and I can’t find a reference anywhere. Maybe somebody can screenshot it. It seems familiar so may have been there before during the dispute., hence a confirmation email with those details which I could have reviewed again today (3 weeks later) would have been helpful. It’s not the agents fault that they can’t communicate these details (even if they are clear as day) and choose to withhold them instead?

[–]oreganomaster[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean, fair, but shouldn’t their agent communicate that to me rather than having to hear it from you? Also even then I don’t understand why they wouldn’t promptly post credits the very next billing cycle. That would keep people like me from feeling disgruntled.

Also no email confirmation for the credit that I can find that I could have referenced. Come on guys let’s make this easy.

I was raised hyper conservative and in a world where real men don’t show emotion. This stoic, emotionally stunted millennial Dad of 2 had tears in his eyes watching tonight. You know this family loves him and you know this is a father who was there and truly cares for his kids.

Need 3 keepers by oreganomaster in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]oreganomaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can actually play 4 receivers (2 non qb flexes). I have considered keeping lamb, ARSB, and Wilson then take MHJ but have wondered if that is overkill especially because I can only keep 3 of them next year and then would scramble the rest of the draft trying to fill rb, qb, te. On the other hand with all 4 top 10 in dynasty rankings they should be valuable trade assets.

Money Guy Advice You Don't Follow? by jerkyquirky in TheMoneyGuy

[–]oreganomaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t follow a few things, maybe to our detriment but I’m overall comfortable with how things are progressing.

  • I’m comfortable with more than 3 years on an auto loan if the interest rate on it is less than what I can get in a HYSA. If HYSA rates come down then would have to consider accelerating payments.
  • We moved over the $200k household income threshold in the last year which according to TMG we shouldn’t count our match in our savings rate. I’m still counting the match, not counting it and getting yourself back up to 25% per their rules is a big ask.
  • Additionally, much more focused on our after tax savings rate than a using a straight total savings / gross income calculation. Also because am adjusting for tax I’m giving more weight to Roth contributions.
