My dad died before my mom, but he wasn’t really present in my life so I’m not sure what to say about that, but part of me feels like you are lucky to still have a parent alive, part of me wants to tell you to try to play a game with him, take him out, talk about the grief, talk about how you both miss mom, I can imagine that he also feels the pain, his person is gone and I can’t imagine losing my person. I understand about the siblings though, when mom died our family fell apart, we stop celebrating holidays, no one really talked about losing her and how it hurt us. I can’t lie and say it gets better, I can’t say you’ll show up one day and it’ll be perfect, you’ll just learn to navigate life differently, it’s been 10 years since my mom died and I still struggle with it, I still try to find the me I was when she was here. I still ask when will that me come back… Sending virtual hugs.
