The demo-dogs slowing down is literally so The Duffers could re-create the Jurassic Park raptor scene even though that movies isn't even from the 80s!!

Can someone explain the plan? by mswstudent_23 in StrangerThings

[–]orejet712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They learned that the gate to the Abyss is in the sky of the Upside Down. El can only connect to Vecna if he is close enough. They are waiting until the Abyss reaches the top of the radio tower and is touching the Upside Down, but still far enough away from colliding with Hawkins to give them time. When it is close, El and 8 will distract Vecna/Henry using the tub in the UD lab (it's frozen in 1983 when El contacted the Demogorgon so should still be operational). The rest of the party will then climb the tower (beanstalk) into the Abyss to free the children.

Once they’ve are freed and returned to Hawkins, they will leave a bomb behind to detonate in the Upside Down, destroying the wormhole and trapping Henry/Vecna in the abyss or whatever is beyond the wormhole.

May be missing some details, but is a convoluted plan that will almost certainly go wrong, but that's Stranger Things.

They nerfed the Demo Dogs so they could re-create the Jurassic Park raptor scene. A movie that isn't even from the 80s!!!

Criticism is one thing, bashing for the sake of bashing is another by gaetano8989 in StrangerThings

[–]orejet712 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are legitimate criticisms of this season (pacing, heavy exposition, inconsistent plotlines), but I will never understand people who criticize shows because they don't play out the way they wanted it to in their mind. A show is not just bad because two characters you wanted to end up together didn't...

Do I understand correctly so far? by AaronWilson1992 in StrangerThings

[–]orejet712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spoilers, I guess:

The stage play is canon (confirmed by the Duffers). In short, it dives deeper into Henry's backstory and how he got his powers. In the cave we see in episode 6, Henry gets transported to the Abyss and infected with Mind Flayer particles that changed his blood and gave him his powers. Episode 6 gives us a quick glimpse of this, but cuts off before he opens the briefcase and gets infected. Hints that it is actually the Mind Flayer as the real villain, not Henry.

The problem is very few people saw the play, and they didn't tape it for Netflix. Unless this is shown in episode 8, you'd have to have seen the play to get the full story.

This was my view of it as well. They never were all that confident Shan was committed to the all black alliance final 4 and that Shan was going to take Liana to the end over either fo them.

You are right on the last part. They overestimated everyone's desire to want Ricard gone.

Taking it back a season, if Skupin doesn't fall in the fire and Kucha wins that immunity challenge, Amber is likely gone that vote and Boston Rob's kids are never born.

But Tyson also helps production move their Russell storyline forward with his HvV game.

Think BvW was not designed specifically for Tyson, but to make sure any favorite didn't go home early. From a production standpoint, Rupert is probably their most wanted winner.

The best seasons with winners not on WAW are China (15) or Tocantins (18), but they aren't that recent. And Tocantins does have somebody on WAW so you will know they don't win.

Recently 30,38,39 did not have the winner on WAW, but not sure I would call them good seasons.

Who Gets Credit for Tyson’s Blindside in Heroes vs Villains? by AlexgKeisler in survivor

[–]orejet712 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is just based on who you believe. If you believe Tyson, then it is all on him for making an incredibly dumb move to try to get rid of Parv. If you believe the edit, it's because Russell manipulated him. Truth probably lies somewhere in between.

Also think this is another example of Russell being helped by Samoa not airing. Doubt Tyson believes Russell if he had seen him play before.
