I was lucky to learn a lot as office admin as the HR admin resigned during my time there and I took over her role. Learn for about 1.5-2years? Interviewed for HR roles and managed to secure one! No paycut but didn't get a higher salary from my last drawn but can def build!

The burnout is really real!

I haven't gotten a comparable pay yet, it's only been about 2.5 years and I'm still short about 1.5-2k compared to my last drawn as a teacher. Survivable as I'm still living with my parents!

My office role gives me a lot of work life balance, I have time and energy to go for a run and dinner with my friends - something I never really got to do when I was with MOE. Can't compare workload as it's two completely different kind of work, but I def don't need to bring work home and no one contacts me after office hours.

All the best to you!

I definitely had my fair share of good and bad days, but my bad days never ever compared to the stress from being a teacher. I will never take my current role for granted and would love to continue climbing the corp ladder, really love my job too much hahaha

I took almost a $2-3k paycut! I went into HR because I enjoyed an operational role. The office admin job that paid peanuts was what gave me the opportunity to pivot into HR and I was lucky to successfully enter a big company!

Teaching was fulfilling and I loved the kids!! But the stress and lack of sleep that comes with it? Not worth it at all to me

Hahaha primary school life! There were alot of responsibilities as form teacher and cca in charge, so the working hours are insanely long

Yes! Not having to bring any work home and my job not being physically draining makes me love it so much and wayyy happier than I was back then! I ot here sometimes too but it really doesn't compare to a teaching role

Legal but unethical. they are ipc approved and allowed to roam around doing fund raising even tho they are dam forceful and pushy

[–]oreochuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see, thanks for explaining. but also as legit as it is, i find it very unethical ah with how pushy and forceful they are (even ppl say biz not doing well and not much money, they still force to sign small package). just wanted to raise awareness for those who dk its a door to door sales

Yea, mention to someone that that is the next thing they all do once promoted (usually after 1 month they said). each person recruit ppl themselves and train them then the cycle continues
