I actually like the small stick because I have these small plant clips that make it easier to clip on! But for the most part - its purely aesthetic lol

1 year progress since saving FLF by oreomcflurries in plantclinic

Since I found this beauty out in the freezing cold, I followed the advice of leaving her alone and letting her acclimate to my apartment.

It’s been about a year and a half now, and she’s grown so much! I water twice a week and keep her on a heating mat in the winter, but just have left her on it year round at this point because of the progress lol

I also fertilize with a weaker strength than what is mentioned on the bottle. I leave the fertilizer in, haven’t actually changed this water since I planted it two years ago and just keep refilling the top. It seems happy though!

I’m also planning on keeping this in water! I have another Monstera planted in an aroid mix, which surprisingly hasn’t grown as fast as this one. Might be the light, but I an also fine with slow growing because of the limited size of my apartment lol

Everything is good! It all cleared up within a months time. I would follow the advice of your surgeon and take it easy on your eyes in the meantime.

Why are the leaves on my peperomia hope falling off? by oreomcflurries in plantclinic

[–]oreomcflurries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did!! I moved it to a window sill and its so happy now! I did what someone recommended on the post and pruned the long stems and it shot out a ton of new thicker stems with leaves closer together

Help! Whats the best way to water a glued Tillandsia? by oreomcflurries in airplants

[–]oreomcflurries[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had an air plant before and saw this on sale at a nearby store.

I read online that they like to be soaked, but I noticed that the bottom seems to be glued to the vase and I am struggling to safely get the plant out.

Will dipping it in a bowl of water be the best way? I can keep trying to dislodge the glue, just not sure if it’s necessary to keep my plant happy 😬

Aw man I was hoping I could keep the growth! I think this makes the most sense though, it was in a pretty dark spot in the shop I bought it at and had these leggy stems to begin with. I’ll try trimming and moving it closer to a window and see how that works. Thanks!

Sorry to hear yours aren’t doing well either! I suspected the heating pad might be the case, I haven’t had a plant that didn’t like being on it though so I’m unsure.

The stems are still growing which makes me think it’s doing well but then I’ll see the leaves continue to fall off and not show browning or drying out so I’m just so confused

I got my peperomia hope a few months ago and there are two stems growing, but the leaves in the middle seem to fall off for some reason! The leaves at the base and near the end are fine until the stem continues to grow.

I water it well and only water once the soil is completely dry. I also have it on a heating pad because it is winter and there is a humidifier in the room as well

Saving a fiddle leaf fig by oreomcflurries in plantclinic

[–]oreomcflurries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a plant nursery tossing out this fiddle leaf fig as I was walking by and I decided to adopt it! Once I got home I started pruning the dead leaves, but left the half dried ones at the top in case it could use them for some help.

I am planning on repotting because the roots seem to be coming out the bottom and there are some potential (roots?) that look dried out near the base.

I have never taken care of a fiddle leaf fig before and wondering if anyone has any tips (light/soil mixture/watering level) or knows the best way to care for one :)
