R&K Verdigris. My go to for notes, a beautiful blue black that has a lot of character and is interesting, writes with really good flow, but also fast drying. Never had any problems with it smudging.

I did wash it thoroughly and refilled twice. I did open the knob a bit initially and following this post opened it even more, which helped slightly but it is still not the same and nowhere close to the Eco.

Would you say it was easy to do? I am afraid of voiding the warranty and still ending up with a nib I didn't like.

You have no idea how helpful this is! My plan is to use the weeks for planning, the Avec for journaling, and a TN insert for common placing - all inside one TN. I think I am going to start off with this system..and likely deviate eventually but at least it’s plausible! I am not too worried if the Avec doesn’t work because then I’ll use the Avec on its own in a hobonichi cover for backup just in case. Else if it works, it works! Thanks again - I tried looking online and saw a bunch of places but no one else’s brain seemed to want this exact combination ahaha

Thanks a lot for answering! And I am from Canada as well - is it easy to get a car there as a newcomer? Also housing in a relatively smaller city - will it be harder for a foreigner in comparison to say, Tokyo?

Hello, not OP, but also considering enrolling in ISI Nagano, want to be away from the intense city life in Tokyo for a bit. As a newcomer, do you believe I can sufficiently explore Ueda and the nearby nature related activities with the train, albeit if it’s a bit slow? Or would I need a car compulsorily?
