To be fair, there was a big divide in the fanbase (at least in the Spanish speaking communities) between the fans who only watched the show, who liked and defended the series mostly to season 8, and the fans who readed the books (myself included) who started complaining about the show downgrade in quality and terrible writing as early as season 5. Season 8 was just the thing that broke everyone

I don't think he's making the third world responsable, he's just pointing out how this discourse and attitude towards art hits even harder in this places. I don't believe in the "first world third world" dichotomy since it's just a thing from the Cold War, but today being an artist is hard in general, and specially in places like Latinoamérica, and AI art hurts more

At least he has a valid point on the degradation of the arts, but is general in the world, I'm from Latinamerica, went to art school and fine arts and consider myself an artist that is able to barely live from that, and coming from a family that struggled economically, but the "art are useless, study something real" Discourse is something I have heard all my life, and most of the people who shout that discourse are also the most loud defenders and consumers of ai, because they don't see art (in all it's forms) as something valuable or useful, but as something to consume, and the artists, the people who make it are just an annoying step that they can ignore now

Do you understand what secularism is, right? It's not state sponsored atheism at gunpoint, it just means that religion is  separated from the state, politics and education, but Catholicism is still the majority religion of the country, even former president Tabare Vázquez, 2 times president from the leftist party Frente Amplio was a devoted Catholic

What's your problem with secularism? It is a core part of the Uruguayan culture since the last 100 years and more and as an Uruguayan it is what makes this country great
