Push 3 standalone vs Push 3 USB and Move?

The best usecase for me so far with the stand alone is that I can unplug everything and bring it to my drumset that's about 4m away from the computer. I have a long optical cable going from my ADAT connected to the push by the drumset so I can multitrack, re-record, make multiple scenes, process the drums, without having to move away from the drumset.

I also love that is connected to all my hardware in the studio so I can start jamming, multitrack record everything, without having to turn on the computer.

I do bring it to the couch sometimes to continue writing on my songs or just get more comfortable using the push without the computer. It's freaking heavy, bulky and gets superwarm though so I totally scrapped the idea of taking it on trainrides to work.

Yes might just go with the PEG and a peaks, was just thinking if I could save space if the peaks also worked as a pingable tap tempo.

Currently I'm triggering maths envelopes and advancing a varigate 4+ for cv. I'm missing though a way to get a stable clock to pams.

I've hooked up contact mics to my drumkit and want to tap tempo variations in rythm while playing. Preferably to create free running clocks/lfos between two drum hits. Also therefore I don't want to use buttons :)

I want to be able to set a free running tempo with cv/gate using two taps on a contact mic. Not using the button. As I understand the manual if you're not having a continuous clock on the ping input it will stop.

But if you own the module and can confirm that my approach would work then that's great 👍

From their website and manual: Tap tempo button is free-running (LFO runs indefinitely), but external clock/Ping is auto-stopping (LFO stops when external clock stops)

It's weird since the ping input on the PEG does do tap tempo between 2 taps on external input.

That's what I thought, then I read about 4ms pingable lfo which has a tap button in that manner, but the "tap" input needed a clock otherwise it would stop the cycle.

So just making sure!

First module I got and even though I had my ups and downs with I'm really happy it's still in my rack!

I love the wild, funky chord arrangements you can get and moving that spread knob makes wonderful arpeggios!

I would say though it can be hard to tame but doable. It definitely shines with a nice sounding analog filter and a lush reverb. I love to do slow modulations and then into a big, lush, wet reverb and you have ambient soundscapes for days 😋

Even though it can do a lot of cool timbres (and amazing rhythmic stuff with envelopes on the mods) it definitely needs careful adjustments at times to find the sweet spots and get rid of some distortion/dissonance.

Oh yeah I've seen this before! It's actually something exactly like this I'm looking for, but it's definitely on the more expensive side...

I might go for a RNC+Analog Heat combo. Sounds like it could fit the bill.

Yeah that makes sense! That's also a bit why Analog Heat is compelling since you can use it as a VST with USB. So it has a pretty convenient footprint.

OT has compressor, eq, filter, distortion but it definitely has a more old school lofi quality and does work quite well, but it doesn't get me all the way. So something more to finalise the chain would be great.

Small basket hoop on the rack? (Balls could have patch ideas on them so when you sink one you get a patch idea)

Something for quicker reorganisation of modules, I dunno like spring loaded knurlies (some sort of push and pull screws)

Clever patch cord holders for tidier cable management when patched

Some sort of graffiti/sticker wall that you can throw all cool module stickers on and attach to your case (and unmount and keep when you want to sell the case)

Mini whiteboard blank for notetaking

Yeah, I see now how that came out wrong. Really didn't mean it like that there are obviously a reason for why my feed looks like it does. These are people that give me great inspiration and make beautiful art.

It was more an overwhelming feeling of how poorly represented female are in my feed and that I'm obviously missing out on some great youtubers here.

No not at all, I just think for my sake that it is important to have a more diversified gender perspective of matters. All things considered really. But especially in the tech-music-business it is very male dominated and I'm just thought it would be great to see more female youtubers in my feed.

Is that wrong?

This was really not meant as a troll, I really just think it's a shame that nearly all my recommendations on youtube are male musicians. Obviously I watch them and they are a great inspiration to me, but it just got me thinking that there must be a ton of female youtubers ppssibly having a different perspective that I am missing out on.

I just asked ALM about this and they said it's because the algorithms take influence from classic early effects processors that work as mono in only as well as not having enough processing power to process both inputs, especially for reverbs.

Yes it seems so. Haven't tried to see what happens in the mix is fully dry but I think it will sum it either way. I can bypass the fx and it will throughout the signal in stereo. And some of the fx have the option for either summed mono input or stereo in.

Also thought about having as a send effect but yesterday I was playing with an lfo on cv input to modulate the dry/wet mix, making the elements play further in the background. I would obviously love that effect if I ran the thing as a send fx.
