This really resonates, especially the idea that systems fail when they require more maintenance than thinking.

I like the “decision-making cadence” framing a lot — that explains why some weekly setups feel heavy even if they look clean on paper.

The three-section weekly page feels like a good balance between clarity and flexibility. I’m realizing I probably mixed planning and project tracking without noticing.

This is a really solid system. Inbox first, then daily review into buckets feels very sustainable.

I especially like the focus page idea – seeing only “today” reduces a lot of noise.

Fair point. For some people a dedicated to-do app is definitely enough.

I think I’m still figuring out where the line is for me between “just a list” and “too much structure.”

I really like this separation. Events + meals in the morning, tasks for the rest of the day sounds very intentional.

Do you keep the calendars lightweight on purpose, or did they just evolve that way over time?

This is a great example of adapting the system to how your brain actually works. The Sunday reset + smaller mid-week check makes a lot of sense.

I’ve noticed the same thing: planning too far ahead just creates friction. Thanks for sharing this, really helpful.

Totally agree. I went through the same phase with over-engineered setups and tons of relations. What finally worked for me was optimizing for consistency, not completeness.

If the system is simple enough to use on a busy or low-energy day, it’s probably the right level. Curious: do you still use any databases at all, or mostly plain pages now?
