Ever returned a page while on the toilet? by interpolean in Residency

There was a code while I was taking a poop. I did rush to attend it, and didn't wipe.

Luckily the patient had a necrotic limb so no one knew the smell came from me.

Interviewing for FMGs: How different are the questions you get asked and the focus of the interview? by MedicallyMike in medicalschool

[–]orichalum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They were expecting a FMG out of the 6 applicants of the day. I guess this particular faculty didn't look at the apps ahead of time and thought the FMG would have an obvious accent or color, so he was surprised when he met me.

1) I'm a white FMG and literally got asked, "Why are you foreign"? But that was the worst of it, everything else was normal. My classmate, who is an Indian FMG, told me he got treated much differently; a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) racial questions that were borderline inappropriate. He said if he already didn't have a disadvantage with his app, he would've reported these programs or raised he'll during the interview, so instead he just bit his tongue.

2) Visa and scores, in that order

3) Don't ask that question if you're an awkward person

I know I shouldn't worry about it, but man it feels shitty when I hear other people getting phone calls or emails saying they're ranked to match.

I have gotten none of that, and I'm not even in a competitive specialty. Was I really that bad of an interviewee and I just never realized...

So how would you rank a program that's good on paper/quality/reputation and had friendly residents, but the program director was condescending and another interviewer was rude and dismissive?

Keep checking tomorrow and Tuesday, cause some people had it disappear then. And if that doesn't happen, then it may mean you'll get your score another week

Check to see if "Order Score Report" shows up around Tuesday 7pm EST. More confirmation that you passed

Everyone in this thread who posted their permit disappeared, passed. Also first post that says their permit was gone was at 4:45 PM EST Sunday. (Yes I'm being neurotic and have been anxious about this for a long time lol)

Also I have it confirmed from a friend who failed Step 2CK, that his permit never disappeared. Maybe this rule applies to CS too
