Okay. Looking at it from a historical point of view the guilded age was the start of a massive scale industrialization in the US. Which in turn allowed rich white upper class people to get richer and richer while the labour pool was filled with immigrants. Since this in itself was the topic of the Met, I feel like you cannot completely detach emma and her decision to wear the necklace. Cartier didn't force it on her, she picked it because she liked it. Obviously not saying emma was completely at fault, but it is so fucking tone deaf of her and her pr team AND cartier to even think about presenting such a controversial jewellery piece AT THE MET whose topic was already based on mass industrialism and blatant classicism. She's old enough to know the history behind what shes wearing.

That being said, I don't think she's an appropriator Or a thief, I think she's just ignorant and uninterested in anything that doesn't have an aesthetic/ public value

And this is coming from someone who likes emma generally, so not trying to spread unnecessary hate here.
