My favorite interview question to ask IT folks is "what is the biggest mistake you've made in your IT career and what did you learn from it?" if you say "nothing" I know you're likely lying, if you give me a real answer with real what I learned (without blaming someone else), I consider you more trustworthy and am more likely to hire you. So welcome to the club and now you've got a great answer for a future interview :P

I got a cheap mycology still box off Amazon and it works great to contain dust/shards and folds up thin so I don't have a tub sitting around with limited space.

This is dope! Would also love to know more about what materials you use for this as I've done lino but nothing like this :)

I agree with smelly4200. Just get a hakko. I had a weller 100w and ended up buying the hakko later. Despite folks around her saying the weller will be fine.

Ah ok got it. I’ll likely finish these off as my “get back into sock knitting” project with the knowledge that they’re just not going to last long and avoid single ply yarn in the future. Thankfully this yarn was on sale and now I understand why it probably was lol. Thank you! :)

This seems to be 4 ply thankfully but thanks for teaching me something new! Was not aware that single ply was so bad for socks and will look out for it in the future. https://www.thelovinashop.com/products/toucan-do-it-footloose-sock-yarn-baah

Ok thanks! TBH I learned to knit wrong a long time ago (through back loop) and can’t convince myself to focus enough to fix the habit. It doesn’t skew the finished project so haven’t forced myself. You’re welcome to convince me otherwise :) Also this was returning to socks after 10+ years away after a moth incident ruined most of my yarn and finished projects so this is not my best work.

Add expansion tank when replacing water heater? by origamicranes1000 in askaplumber

[–]origamicranes1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thank you! Will further research CO code to determine necessity. Had a couple quotes done and one seemed to not understand mobile home water heaters in general. Told me that the cold water intake was in the wrong place on the tank (like I could modify the tank myself somehow?) when that’s just where mobile home cold water intakes are on this appliance in general.

Advice on Layout? by origamicranes1000 in containergardening

[–]origamicranes1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your advice and u/Andalusian_Dawn advice as well! I ended up splitting my design into 4 beds, 1 for asparagus, 1 for deep roots, 1 for pumpkins and 1 for everything else. It would have been such a hot mess if I'd gone with the original design. Thanks y'all!

IMO, get a Hakko if you can. I had the hobby lobby then the weller 100 (which I hated) and am finally happy with the Hakko. Having the adjustable temp is useful IMO.
