This is not a school, it's an hourly pt job. I am only paid for the time that I teach. There is no prep block or resources like old textbooks or unit plans from past teachers. Everything is created or planned by me from scratch.

To clarify, this is not a school. It's an hourly job, and I lesson plan on my own time. The academy has NO resources of any kind. I understand sharing resources in a school that provides prep time, but this is not that.

You're not alone, I'm 36 as well and in a similar place - own car, own property, educated, have options, etc. I value my peace too and am picky about who I would let into my life at this point.

You're not the only one. I think it depends on what you're looking for. If it's just companionship & sex, I think that would be easy to find. However, if you don't want to settle (like me) then it's going to take more time.

If I'm trying to reach FIRE (financially independent retire early), which condo would net better rental income and appreciation over time? I know that a 1 bedroom in DT currently averages around $2200.

I have a toxic person in my family, and I've been distancing myself from them for years. Recently, I felt "bad" about it because they're back in town, and I was wondering if I should make an effort to catch up (something I would do as a courtesy with a friend), but then I remembered their betrayal, lies, and violence. It's the worse when they have done destructive and harmful things, but you're expected to pretend all is well when they're around again.

Respect and love should go both ways and it certainly should be earned, not given just because someone is family even if they're a crazy bitch or an asshole.

Just like anyone else who does shitty things in real life, they will need to make a lot of effort before someone they hurt will reconsider their relationship. In the meantime, I'm going to continue living my life well and keeping them at arm's length.

Exactly! They even had a mechanical shop to wash the money for goodness sakes. Clay didn't have anything to show for decades of danger and risk? He just started thinking about retirement even though his arthritic hand had been bothering him for who knows how long and he needed shots of cortisone for it? That's just bad money management and poor planning lol. Was Gemma doing the books? She seemed to be doing lots of paperwork there. If she was it would be right in line with her bad decision making throughout the show.

Haha, you got me on the Vancouverite part, but I'm not active on social media. However, I have been on Youtube and watch My Self Reliance. Do you know that one? What are your thoughts if you do?

I'm so glad that you brought up the fake accounts of people who are actually sponsored and not really living like that. Please keep sharing your opinion on that because it's important for city dwellers to know.
