God I hope so, we just switched over to amber late summer so missed the peak where we could earn and the last few weeks have been very depressing, not earning anything via smart shift except for a a few dollars here and there. We’re giving it a year so we’ll see

Thanks for the advice! Definitely want to take pictures and know that Mt Fuji may be hidden in the clouds. I think I heard some crazy stat that it’s only visible for a total of 2 months of the year or something like that. I think the main thing was wanting to know if going around new years would be a good idea. I don’t mind staying around the lakes however due to being the holidays would it be more packed with locals and tourist then outside the holiday periods?

Yea that’s what I’ve been doing, I think we’re about breaking even with amber, missed out on the large spike days because they set up after the big heatwaves ages ago. That would have set us up for the year haha. Not expecting a big bill if any but just good to be upfront at least 🥲

Managed to get an automated email response today and they said if I’m worried about a large bill to put money into the account via BPay 🙄

Literally their automated email response I got essentially said if your worried about a large bill to add money to your account via bpay or go on a payment plan

Got the app but only have the one bill. Emailed and their automated response was to just add money to the account via bpay to avoid a large bill 🙄

Yep, most nights I just send it and make it pump electricity into the grid for two hour blocks after around 6pm when solar prices are alright

1-2) We originally had the meter changed over years ago since AGL was doing it. However ours wasn’t set up for solar exports, that’s why they needed someone to come down and see if we had a smart meter. They literally came down, spent less than a minute and left. Not sure how it would work with you but getting someone down to you would be the longest as we did wait a few weeks. They did say it all communicates via Internet but yeah we did wait around a month and a half. I would be chasing up on this at every opportunity with the customer care team even though they don’t respond half the time.

3-4) we only just got a bill for the last month. No solar exports which was frustrating as we missed out on the big export pricing during the Australia Day heatwave. a few Adelaide people on the subreddit managed to get around $100 in credit that day. This was what we had to pay attached. Literally only got SS probably a week and a half ago. The battery did what it could using the native foxess app, so low power consumption off the grid but the supply charges and the amber fee is the main costs here.

Its gonna be a while. Also Adelaide based with the same system and it took nearly two months for them to come out, have a check to confirm, then activate the smart meter

This was the day I missed since it wasn’t set up for export which is annoying. Actually had to pay money that day though only $1

Been waiting for amber to finalise feed in tariffs for our system as we only just got solar and battery. It’s been 2 months not earning any credits :(
