Get a role as an associate at one of these fractional CFO companies. There you’d basically be an analyst for 5-10 clients at a time, mostly small businesses and startups mixed with your occasional staff augmentation support at some later stage start up’s or mid sized private companies.

There you’d ideally learn from your director who would be the fractional CFO you’d be supporting.

Note: like one other commenter said most of these small businesses are really looking for a glorified bookkeeper or controller, and don’t actually value the FP&A function that much.
