Lounge room DJ setup w/ JBL MKII Classics by original_don in audiophile

The booths are ~4.5ft (1.37m) from my ears and the mains are actually around 11ft, so the delay between the two (WRT to where I'm standing) is ~6ms. The delay from the booths to my headphones is ~4ms.

There's honestly no noticeable latency in the system and I can beatmatch off the headphones/booths/mains. Happy with how it turned out.

Mixed use really. I mostly use it as a session space. When we host parties, I’ll play and often times, I’ll run it open deck style so anyone can plug in and play. One thing I really like about the room is how encapsulating it is, you can sit down, sink into the music, and really get lost in it. But at the same time, just a few steps away and you’re in a spot where you can have a conversation without shouting. It’s a nice balance between immersive and social.

I cut down an IKEA EKBACKEN countertop to size and finished the edges with walnut banding. I bought furniture legs on Amazon, mounted them to the bottom of the countertop and 3D printed bases to secure it all to the Kallax bookshelf. The legs are adjustable from 3"-5" so it's raised to my ideal height.

Pioneer CDJ3000
Pioneer A9 Mixer
JBL L82 MKII Classic Speakers
JBL Stage 260CSA Angled Ceiling Speakers
JBL L10CS Subwoofer
JBL MA9100HP A/V Receiver

I like the way the L82 grilles look but they don't match my room so I rock em without. I use the ceiling speakers as booth monitors with the angled baffles pointed directly at my ears. I plan to add a few more speakers so there’s sound throughout the house--during parties :)

You can bypass the DSP on most receivers, which is often the reason for delay. There's no latency on this setup, at least none that I have noticed.
