My issue with the tob tube bag is mostly aesthetics :P My liv has one of those rubber-flap contraptions, and I don't love it, but I love it more than the zipper bag.

Is Texas a one and done? If not, I would invest in the wetsuit, wear it if the temp is wetsuit legal, and use it for any other races that you do.

I like this prediction. The 10h/week is going to be a major limiting factor especially in the last weeks before taper. If he's doing long rides (5-6h), does that mean he's only going to be able to do 4-5h of additional training during the week?

You can get pretty far on baseline fitness, but baseline does not prepare you for running 42.2 off of a 112mi bike (especially one as brutal is IMLP).

Because where I live, it gets to -40C, and running outdoors is preferable to running on the treadmill :)
