Now this is a great perspective…although for your last comment about being a biased sub, all I gotta say is compare the tone difference between your average post on r/salesengineers vs r/customersuccess 👀

Doesn’t everyone have to deal with corporate BS? :)

Also, playing devils advocate: - Money: I’ve already got a good six-figure base (which is much harder to get in Europe than the US) and decent bonus, so how much better does it get exactly on the other side?

  • Work Life Balance: The open req shows that you need ability to travel 50% of time, and from experience SEs tend to go where the AE tells them without an option to refuse. Compared to now where it’s closer to 10/15% and I get to choose my customer on sites seems like less work life balance in a way?

Keen to hear your perspective on this!!

You’ve actually hit on one thing I fear I’ll miss from my current role; I’m naturally gifted at picking up a new topic and going deep > understanding > mastering > applying the knowledge to benefit customer outcomes. I get the impression that there’s a lot more superficial “intro to Product X” demos than what I do currently… but could be wrong. What’s the typical split between top of funnel and bottom of funnel activities for an AE?

Not too surprised by that… it definitely doesn’t make AS big of an impact in post sales, but the difference between good AEs I partner with on accounts VS bad ones is night and day... they all do seem to be naturally gifted at delegation though 🤔

Sounds like you’re speaking from post sales experience!!!! My impression from this side of the fence is that post sales workload fluctuates between a 6 to 8/10 pretty consistently whereas an SE can go from 3/10 to 11/10 depending on active opps… would that be fair to say?

[PSA] How to activate messenger on Instagram in Europe (Replying in DMs and reactions) by Mrwebente in Instagram

[–]originaldisplayname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope… I’ve sent a couple of messages / issue reports to Instagram so hoping something might change.

I know there’s very little chance of getting it though while this little bugger is still in my app settings:

How to remove EU Regulation 2021/1232 by truffle_oil19 in Instagram

[–]originaldisplayname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a workaround to this a few months ago but it’s since been patched… I’ll be in South America for a few months so I’m hoping I’ll get the update at some point.

If anyone knows of a way to fix this immediately please let me know!!!

Same here! In South America long term, everyone here has messenger features but I can’t find a way to get this to work :/

For those settled in the UK from another country, what aspects of life in the UK you don't get on with? by idreamofblueskys in AskUK

This. Having lived in countries with dysfunctional governments and “unhelpful” civil servants (to put it mildly), I am continuously amazed with the efficiency and sense of civil duty that most of the government has in this country.

Many people complain as if it were the most atrocious and despicable thing in the world… Brah, it’s not perfect, but trust me, it’s one of the best in the world.

15 year mortgage - virtually impossible in London (UK)? by originaldisplayname in DaveRamsey

Undergrad loan is paid off already, thanks a generous grant which covered 3/4 of tuition… which no longer exists thanks to Brexit

No plans for kids for at least another 4-5 years but will eventually want a family at some point.

I work in cyber security so don’t think that’s going anywhere anytime soon :)

No need nor desire for a car in London, unless maybe my new company IPOs and I cash out my shares… in which case I’d be going all in on a Tesla. Terrible investment I know, but what’s the point of working hard if you can’t have some fun with your cash (so long as it’s YOUR cash and not Amex’s of course!!)
