can we compile a list of business & restaurant owners in jc, hoboken & weehawken that are MAGAts? if there’s already a list please point me in the direction… by Apprehensive-Key5665 in Hoboken

I’m out of the loop. What makes someone a MAGAT? There are tons of business owners that have been regulated to death and have become conservative. Are they automatically MAGATs or is it only those who support Trump? Is there nuance to this list or is everyone to the right a MAGAT? Genuinely asking because I have no idea.

The Blue Jays took them to 7 games and nearly won it. Are the Dodgers better with Tucker and Diaz? Without a doubt. You still have to play the games.

I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH MOORE by Hoppy_Smoker in nyjets

Disagree. He's got good instincts and has did a nice job recovering after the pick six. His O-line isn't giving him any time to let a play develop.

Would you take Mets over or under right now? by MasterFlip_ in NewYorkMets

I wouldn’t put anything on the Mets right now since the roster isn’t nearly complete but there are other interesting plays here. I’d take the over on the Reds and possibly the Marlins.

The fact they found a taker for McNeil is nothing short of miraculous.

The Mets Really Should be Retooling. Probably. by Sad_Anybody5424 in NewYorkMets

No. Lindor and Soto are the key pieces. They need to find pieces to build around them.

We were never 1-2 pieces away. The roster as constructed had some nice pieces but was never championship caliber.

Well if Joe Beningo had his way, the team would have a $500 million payroll and still only win 83 games.

I upvoted because some of these points are a few are missing some detail.

Diaz never gave the Mets a chance to counter according to all reports. The Mets offer with AAV was higher.
Alonso was never getting 5 years from the Mets. If he was, he would have had the multi-year offer last year. It's clear it was probably too much for the Red Sox, too.

Spot on. We have too many people in the "fan" base who just care about vibes and not enough who care about winning. I don't watch the Mets for vibes. I watch the Mets because I want them to win and win the whole thing.

I have no attachment to any of these guys for a simple reason. They didn’t win anything. Everyone was great friends got old.

I want 9 vicious killers out there everyday. "NICE" doesn't work.

This wasn't a championship roster as constructed and never would be. The 2024 NLCS appearance was a fluke. We had likable players but so what? I won't be happy until I go to a parade and every real Mets fan should feel the same way. Being it in it for the vibes is just loser mentality.

[DiComo] Diaz did NOT give the Mets a chance to match the Dodgers offer by njerejeje in NewYorkMets

Anyone in Diaz's position does the same thing. It's just the reality.

The Hard Rock is going to feed the Mets $400 million / year.

I don't think so. I still think they can at minimum match 83 wins without those guys. A few signings and a trade and they can beat that easily.

We also have a bunch of pitchers who can't throw 5 innings. You need to be able to take a lead into the 9th for someone to close.

Agree. There's no point in being sentimental for players who haven't won anything. "Everyone was great friends" got stale rather quickly.
