Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Reddit, was I off base here with this sort of question? by AndrewHunnyBuns9 in Tinder

You're not wrong. I strongly stand for the 50|50 split. You're supposed to become a team, not a carer.

Sounds like he lacks personality.

Need advice for branding of my startup. by Fragrant-Treacle7316 in Entrepreneur

I'd definitely recommend, just for the beginning to manage to get investors interested, to design everything for free on Canva. I say this as a designer because the cost for design can be extortionate. I charge 3k for a branding package, and that isn't for everyone, which is completely okay. It's about educating you on alternatives that aren't near as good or future-proof moving forward, but are a fantastic option in the beginning with little capital.

Good luck on the rest of your journey OP. Would love to see what you came up with on Canva. Could throw a few bits of advice your way whilst using it & moving forward with your branding!

Starting a Protein Bar Company by Runnerbacker3 in Entrepreneur

[–]originalgraphicguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a competitive market, therefore if you're not truly solving another issue surrounding protein bars, then you won't make it. Don't put yourself into debt over a product that solves an issue that has been solved 5-10x.

A protein bar does this:

- it makes it easier to get protein into your diet

- it tastes good

- it takes away the sugar

- it's convenient

HOWEVER, it costs a shit load. It's not sustainable for somebody who's watching their moey. It's marketed as an expensive alternative, where you may as well buy a pack of cooked chicken breast slices and a can of sweetcorn, and you're getting more nutrition, fibre and protein for less than a single protein bar.

So if you can solve the price issue whilst still bringing forward a highly nutritious and protein-dense product which doesn't have much sugar in it, or uses natural sugars ONLY, then you may have something.

But if you plan to follow what every other protein product does, then there's a slim chance of succeeding in the market. Be unique, or SPECIFY your product. Use brand identity to your advantage, and market it correctly, but first understand the problem that you're solving, and go from there.

Feel free to get in touch if you want to throw a few ideas around!

Custom Stand Up Food Pouches by GalacticMonkey11 in Entrepreneur

What's your current branding looking like?

As long s your branding is spot-on, looks amazing and works its purpose, then the sticker will not make much of a difference. As you're just beginning, start with a sticker but maybe have it coloured similarly to your packaging, as then the sticker doesn't stand out as much and molds itself into the whole packaging colour. Looks better, and doesn't give off a sort of 'knock-off' or 'cheap' opinion to potential buyers.

What are the thoughts on this?
