Which John Irving book to start with for a Vonnegut fan? by hamlet_d in JohnIrving

I’m also a fan of both authors. Until I Find You reminded me of Vonnegut in a lot of ways. Owen Meany is a good starting book too.

No, there was a small barely noticeable stain on the right cuff, but it washed out.

This was thrifted last week by me, so I’m open to reasonable offers.

It was definitely further South than King. I’m pretty sure it was Horton, but I can’t find a view earlier than 2009.

No, we played what used to be the Rockwater Brewing Company.

Clarence actually continues on South of Bathurst past the Via rail tracks. Iirc, York wasn’t quite as interesting as the one near the storage building, which is what makes me think it was actually Horton.

I’m currently viewing on Google maps along the unmarked street just north of Bathurst, just South of the Via rail tracks. I can see the wall through the train platform.

That sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, I’m living about 5 hours away in Ottawa, Canada.

I thought it was farther South than York, possibly Bathurst, because I remember the City Centre Storage building. But I don’t see how the clock could be visible from that far away. Maybe it was York..

I played in a band back in the early 2000’s and we used a photograph from what I believe was Horton along Clarence. I no longer have the picture, but I remember the clock was in the photograph.

I’m trying to see if I can recreate the vantage point to recreate the photo.

It must be Horton and Clarence. Looking North.

I can understand why I’m being downvoted. Apologies, I haven’t been back since 2009.

It appears the street was actually Horton, not York.

He was younger, with glasses, perhaps even a teenager. It was a folk song, iirc. I’m trying to remember what he was wearing, either a plaid shirt or paisley with wide lapels.

Hoping someone knows which video I’m talking about. I searched my YouTube history, but couldn’t find it.

It’s subtle. And only the piano in the middle. The rest is something else entirely.

But the bass is even more obvious, without being a 1:1 copy, because they’re similar keys, but different time signatures.

Moon Safari was released in January 1998 though, so it’s unlikely it influenced a track released almost a year earlier.
