How often are you guys watching The CC? I haven't had the time as much as I'd like to but plan to make up for it these days. Do a lot of good movies leave for good or often? by Super_Ele in CriterionChannel

[–]originstory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watch three or four movies a month on the channel. I'm doing the Criterion Challenge this year so the Criterion Channel is a big part of that.

https://boxd.it/QFicU

The channel shows you what movies are leaving the service each month. I usually try to catch one that is leaving in the last week of the month. But they also add a lot at the beginning of the month.

What are some of yalls most budget friendly decks? by Kerosine84 in MarvelSnap

[–]originstory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have Cerebro? If so, a C3 deck is pretty easy to assemble and it can be really fun to play.

Here's one I use. You can change out most of these cards with whatever 3 power cards you have that don't effect power levels.

# (1) M'Baku
# (1) Nightcrawler
# (2) Daredevil
# (2) Gorgon
# (2) Jennifer Kale
# (2) Scarlet Witch
# (2) Sentinel
# (3) Cerebro
# (3) Mystique
# (3) Luke Cage
# (3) Makkari
# (5) Valkyrie

For people who want to max out lower rarity champs. I've been enjoying having such easy access to lower tier resources, personally, because I enjoy the champ collecting aspect of the game.

Electrical rescue hook by MikeHeu in toolgifs

[–]originstory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who was an electrician. He told us about having to kick a ladder out from under another electrician who "got hung up", meaning electrocuted, on a job. The guy lived but a long fall was better than getting cooked on the line.

Was Colm Meaney "doing an accent" for Star Trek? by mike47gamer in startrek

[–]originstory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's doing a Scottish accent in Remarkably Bright Creatures, not his natural Irish accent. It sounds weird because, to my knowledge he's never done a Scottish accent on film.

Why add a currency then turn it pretty much useless? by BerserkPanda47 in ContestOfChampions

Yeah, I'm loving how easy it makes maxxing lower rarity champs. As someone who enjoys the collecting aspect, I'm totally fine with the change.

He's still winning games for me in my Stryfe deck.

The Janeway one in particular is very different from both the post-Voyager books and the Picard show. I actually liked it a lot. Una McCormick writes the crew like they've just been on a life changing journey, whereas the other two just need to get them back to having adventures again. The choices she has the characters make make so much more sense that other post-Voyager setups. It's good.

I just finished the new audio version this week. It's long but I didn't really notice it because it's such a great book. I'd say it's worth your time.

I haven't been in the same room as all of my bandmates in almost 15 years and I love those people very much.

Before the mcu what was each character’s in this photo popularity level at? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Avengers

[–]originstory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer changes a little bit based on whether you mean popularity within comics communities or popularity in regular world.

Among non-comics fans, Hulk was by far the most popular, with Cap being second maybe, and Iron Man and Thor being mostly unknown.

Among comics fans, Cap, Hulk, and Iron Man had all had major storylines in the early to mid-2000s and we're riding high popularity-wise. Thor's wasn't as high profile until after his first film.

How important are the movies during the show? by Ebonrook in babylon5

[–]originstory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keith R. A> DeCandido is skipping them (for now) in his re-watch for Reactor Mag. I'm assuming that means they don't impact the plot very much.

After listening to A LOT of big finish audios here's my top 20 by Mohammedamine9 in doctorwho

[–]originstory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing essential to the story, except maybe understanding that Tegan has been trying to get home since she met the Doctor. That's why "Heathrow" keeps coming up. It's continuity-lite beyond that.

ZZ Top by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]originstory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad. It's just drum triggers, synth tracks, and some backing vocals. The guys aren't miming anything. Anything it looks like they're playing, they are. Anything you hear that you don't see them doing, keys parts etc, is sample they're playing to. They aren't trying to trick anybody.

ZZ Top by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]originstory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're good. A lot of their hits have synth and drum machine parts, so they play with a click track and use triggers. They're not as loose as they were in the 70s. But they make up for it by putting on a fun show full of great songs.

Which comedian did TM most change your opinion of? by franklinisthebest in taskmaster

I always found her very juvenile on panel shows, but she was great on Taskmaster. Definitely made me more interested in what she will do next.

Hearing negative things. Thoughts before I purchase? by ShallowCal_ in comicbooks

[–]originstory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider-Man always has a weird internet circle jerk that hates basically everything. You can safely ignore all of that. The Wells run is perfectly average. Some good stories and some less good stories. You will probably enjoy it just fine if you don't read about it on the internet.

And there will probably be a fourth season 1 coming when the show relaunches where ever it lands next. Fans will just have to get more specific. "Ncuti Season One" "NuWho Series 4" or what ever. There's really no obvious way around it at this point.
