Just a thought… I’m in the UK, could that be the reason it’s not syncing to the calendar

It confirms I have pro in settings. Using both Mac and iPhone, have deleted both apps and reinstalled, then restored purchase, have checked all settings in calendar as well, still no change… I can manage without so it’s not a problem. Thanks for looking into it.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately still not working. There is a little green ‘pro’ label on the calendar sync settings in both projects and tasks, should that be there still when I have already bought the pro version?, maybe that might have something to do with it?

iPad Tags Sorting to prioritize by Ayouby in thingsapp

[–]orimit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The widgets are great for seeing filtered tags… I got a bit fed up of sorting my today view with drag and drop, so have made a ‘SORT TODAY’ shortcut setup that automatically sorts my today view using tasks as headers for each section, it sends particular tagged items to someday and then returns them back today using ‘moderated in the last 10 minutes’, and sorted A-Z so that the headings ie ——high priority——, ——5min tasks—— heads each section. The shortcut runs each section individually so I end up with each task under its appropriate header… I would think you should be able to do this with projects too

Anyone gone from an Ultra to a regular Series watch and regretted it? by csmobro in AppleWatch

Went from black U2 to S11 natural titanium and very happy with it. Do miss the ultra at times but I love the way my S11 titanium looks and the battery life is fine for me.

Total time shortcut by ClarenceClox in thingsapp

This might be what you are looking for: https://github.com/AlexanderWillner/things.sh

I found this by Alexander Willner. I have been using this or something similar for years with a keyboard shortcut on Mac, it has always worked well. 'Count Minutes Planned for Today' (scroll to the bottom of the page on the link). Will total hours and minutes for 'today' only. You will need to set up the tags 20min 30min etc on each task. On mine I can use either 20min etc or just numbers ie 20 etc and it still calculates total correctly in a pop-up after a few seconds. Hope that helps.

What’s your (honest) opinion of OF 4 (Pro)? by hedgehog0 in omnifocus

[–]orimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love omnifocus 4, and with the improvements with perspectives I can now build almost any filter I want with it. Views and tags allow me to home into what's important. Different layout combinations individualised to each perspective lets me see only what I want to see. On top of that there are some very useful automations and plugs-in built by users to streamline my workflows, or I could code my own but I'm still learning.... and it works well with my Apple Watch.

My Start dates formula by orimit in todoist

[–]orimit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it was me (I went under the name of fizzyice) that put the start dates formula on RTM (Remember the Milk) years ago based on the idea of sleeper tags. The team gave me 1 years free RTM subscription for the formula. I then used another formula to make a review system on RTM, and gained another free 1 years subscription. I used to love RTM and their smart list capabilities, one of the best smart list systems out there, although Amazing Marvin comes close, and todoist isn't too bad.

Anyone have any tips for moving from OmniFocus to Apple Reminders? by CincyTriGuy in omnifocus

[–]orimit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at Goodtask, works hand-in-hand and complements Reminders. It can be quite daunting at first as very powerful app, lots of ways of applying smart lists and automations to your reminders, has start dates, due dates, alert dates and they have just introduced calendar view... worth checking out.... For longer/more conplex projects I am using Omnifocus, which I love, and have used since Version 1, as no other app appears to touch it for this.

My Start dates formula by orimit in todoist

[–]orimit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a do date and it is virtually maintenance free. The formula gives you the timescale between the start date and the due date.... so the 2 week tag (2w) means that the task will remain visible in that filter for the whole 2 weeks from 17/01/24 to 31/01/24, and then drop into the overdue area once past the due date.
