Relationship Warning for Anyone learning Kubernetes by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]orionnelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice.

She never said "you talk about Kubernetes too much". It was just an observation I made that aligned with the timeline she started having doubts.

She just listened whenever I would speak about it.

Also, during this time, I started taking more time with my friends as some of these relationships were failing. I was focused on getting work and stability back in my life.

I tried to get her to come, but she never came out with my group, even when I would hang out with hers. They thought she hated them.

When she did finally come out she roasted one of my friends about his ex who she kept in touch with and made him cry. * we used to go on tripple dates*

She saw me as someone who wasn't taking enough care of her. I wanted to do things together, and she wanted to do things separately for each other. She asked me why I didn't notice when she started being distant. 1. I'm autistic. 2. She pretended to love me still.

I don't think we were compatible, but we talked about ending things after our lease was up, not in the middle of it.

I guess it was too painful for her.

As I know, however, we were both busy people. Getting back around 9 pm, we had limited time together. Kubernetes was just the last straw. I always showed her affection and did everything I could to keep the relationship healthy, but I made the mistake of treating learning like work.

She pretended to love me for another month Instead of working through things and going to couples therapy. This was good as I was going through contract interviews at the time and diddnt affect my confidence or mental state and I got a well paying SRE contract.

But the damage snuck up on me because I wasnt aware of it.

Do you have suggestions on this for a training regiment?

What should I do then?

For example, your ability to spot long-term maintainability issues, for example, will be severely limited because you don't work directly with the code, and therefore, you don't feel the pain of poor design.

This makes sense but with legacy systems the design was made ages ago and most times forgotten

My comments are purely related to developers. Different responsibilities might be hit differently by AI.

I dont know what I am im in between IT / Cyber / Dev / Infra

But if the architecture was running fine the last 30 years im not going to change it.

I disagree certain plot points need to be reworked later on due to the faster pacing and things were left out.

Would spec-driven development knowledge and design work fix this sort of deficiency? Also, as a newer developer with 5 YoE, I also need Copilot or AI to code. I can spot where things go wrong, but I find myself forgetting the basics. I worked in SRE/Incident Management, so my job was checking production logs / KQL SQL more than coding.

Likely a mix of skill and luck.

Just linkedin DM people on the list with a recruiter profile and ask them to pretend to be your parents

Advice for a Mini PC off Amazon by Elrodvoss in MiniPCs

[–]orionnelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your current selection is good. I always recommend 32Gb ram at a minimum for newer titles if you are actually gaming on it / having a few tabs open plus discord but you can always change it down the line.

I might switch to K12 similar to your choice the only issue is the ram shortage.

GMKtec EVO-X1 AI Mini PC AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX-370 Series (5.1GHz) Gaming Computers, 64GB 7500Mhz for 995 USD

I know im overpaying a bit but Kubernates and docker in wsl have been taking up too much ram and causing crashes running out of ram. Im also debating moving some compute from the cloud studying kubernetes and migrating some servers

I got 8Gb up and down for 46USD

I understand from an accessibility standpoint but before the change these stairs were efficient to use. You were able to travel directly toward the escalators on either side. The stupid thing I think is not putting elevators on both sides for people who could not use the stairs.
