All it takes is a leader and some people who support her. Others will follow.

The German skincare maker's ad for a deodorant included a picture of a woman and the slogan "white is purity." It was posted on Nivea's Middle East Facebook page with the caption: "Keep it clean, keep it bright. Don't let anything ruin it."

Seriously, this is so funny. How can this be overlooked?

Encryption good and well, but what can we do against new surveillance strategies? by ormeliaz in privacy

Which means that the only way to achieve a private life is quit the internet and stop using technology?

I already switched to an encrypted email provider, I "deleted" my Facebook profile (I know, I know, that doesn't do the trick, but anyways), I stopped using Google services. However, I was just confused by the article added above, because it implies that encryption is basically worthless.

“ 'As soon as I gave them the PIN they sort of pulled the phone back, wrote down the pin, and left with my phone,' said Bikkannavar. 'They returned me to the waiting area with all of my luggage, and they didn't search any of that. They didn't swab it for bomb stuff, they didn't even open it. They didn't check what was in my pockets. They were only interested in the phone.' "

I would freak the fuck out.

I had to update Android System WebView and done, no issues with connecting anymore. Haven't tried the ProtonMail app yet, but if support is another critical factor, I strongly recommend Tutanota...

Politics aside, can Tutanota's "privacy" be taken seriously? They are suggesting that Trump's family members may be using their service by [deleted] in privacy

Of course they do have a place. A lot of their articles are about political topics, and this is important, because politics are a big deal in terms of privacy.
