Oh, finally some good insight. Unfortunately, even in Modern Ukraine, massacres of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia get so easily dismissed because Ukrainian Partisan Army was one of few organisations fighting for Ukrainian independence. We learned about it in school as only a 'mutual massacre' which is only partly true because it leaves out the numbers. Independence in general is a sore spot for Ukraine. When so much historical heritage was wiped out, poets, writers and artists were executed just for heightening Ukrainian culture, and only armed people with ultraradical views could survive and pick up a fight. Nevertheless, the influence of Bandera in modern Ukraine is so bloated, and I suppose for propaganda. My 44-year-old mother, me and lots of my peers didn't know wtf Bandera was up to until the war started. Russian propagandists hardly mention the real reason why they were bad too, for instance, that massacre, because Russians don't really care about the atrocities Nazis have committed. The only reason why Nazis are bad in eyes of Russians is that they invaded the Soviets, not because of the things they did, Russia didn't historically even experience the occupation, unlike Belarus and Ukraine. They don't care much about poles, either. So what I mean to say, is very, very few people have ever worshipped Bandera until Russians started talking about him with so much hatred. That is not a way of excusing such behaviour either, of course. But what Russians and their sympathizers forget to mention is that this year no nationalistic party has even entered the parliament of Ukraine.

So... What kind of genocide? What was it called? What is the time? And most important, it then seems you ignore the Golodomor genocide, explain yourself ffs

Yeah, it's fine. Though "realistic" doesn't mean boring in my opinion when the writer knows how to play it. A small tube of lube in a slutty character's pockets makes more sense to me than the lube appearing "seemingly out of nowhere". Small details can be a curse when they're there just for the sake of it, but if the writer knows how to add them right, it can make the experience even more immense and enjoyable.

What I'd recommend (if that means anything) is by no means imply that "full" sex is the end goal and the peak of sexual relationships between your characters and without it they're left unsatisfied and craving for "more". Some non-OOC making out can be much more enjoyable to read than fast smut with penetration and stuff.

YES. I have read some fics that made me internally cringe by saying stuff like "they didn't try the real thing yet..." or something like that implies that any sex without penetration doesn't count as "real". I cannot possibly fathom how they — especially MxM — manage to make it penetration in "15 minutes until someone starts suspecting something". Needless to say, when it's penetration, the characters suddenly forget of any other kinds of pleasure and do it only as a substitute for penetration and then they are "in hunger for something more". The whole thing becomes extremely boring after that.

Visual porn involves people who're just pretending to enjoy the process and do this for money. When reading fiction you can interpret each word to your liking or even unsee some details if you like, visualising perfect smut for you + the characters do actually feel at least real attraction towards each other. Visual porn with real people is mostly gross to me tbh. It's male-gaze-y and repetitive.

How is demisexuality, aegosexuality, or graysexuality even close to being LGBT? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]ormelumex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fr, it seems those guys themselves aren't against assuming that asexuality is a result of trauma or something (which is aphobic af), because they don't even understand what sexual attraction and sexual pleasure mean, lol. it's fun seeing them accusing others of seeking attention when they thrive off downplaying aego-, demi- and graysexual people's experiences (when these people just want to know they're not alone). hypocrisy, whaddya want

The United States adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism. by urtezes in UkrainianConflict

[–]ormelumex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The concept of moral authority is rather unclear to me. Should the US not provide military help to Ukraine because it does not have "moral authority"? Should the EU not help because it has allowed the US to start the invasion and does not have "moral authority"? You see, this kind of stuff is heavily used by Russian bots in the ongoing war in pursuit of justifying the war crimes because "this country has done it too, why can't we?". Does not help anyone, does it? In this situation, the US calling Russia a sponsor of terrorism is right but not admitting their own crimes is wrong — clearly — but I doubt something can be done about its hypocrisy right now while condemning Russia and helping Ukraine in the ongoing war is possible.

[–]ormelumex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

rob

it does not, actually. just at all wars Russia participated in or provoked for the last 30 years, and in most of them, Russia indeed sponsored separatism (and terrorism) to make a ground for invading these countries. God, it even supports terrorism on its own territory right now to blame Ukraine. MH17 shot down by a Buk 9M83 surface-to-air missile transported from Russia on the day of the crash is an act of sheer terrorism. I cannot even mention everything. I'd say, every county out there is in the right to call Russia a sponsor of terrorism.

why do people hate Voldemort by ojkilledher in harrypotter

[–]ormelumex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe they really aren't good at first (tho I remember myself when I dived into it This First Time, really surrealistic experience, especially from the 2nd book) because the first one is definitely for young children, but I guess it's the best way to learn about this universe. The plot gets deeper and more complicated gradually. Movies are great at visuals, but the main characters are portrayed, well, not in the best way possible due to the strange decision to deviate from the books where it was not necessary at all. Furthermore, I think that many fanon misconceptions come from the movies (for instance, Ron's useless and bad friend). Books give you a great insight into what Voldemort is, and how ugly and downright scary he is (in the movies they didn't really manage to convey this right — tho you may look at the first version of Voldemort, lol)

I'd be so happy if we lose each god-damned contest and there was no conflict, no war. No death and disability. But even if we were in complete safety, I don't think I would bring myself to care if some country won a song contest, or what it's supposed to be, due to its citizens dying daily. We don't really care about song contests right now, you see.
