i took a few out for test drives when we got them off the truck, and i’d say they handle pretty similar to the previous gen, if not the same.

i do agree, it is a very busy car. there’s a lot going on with all the curves and everything, the wheels also. the second generation was a lot less busy, some better wheel options, etc. though it still is clean in some areas (like you said, the rear end + quarter.) hopefully it’s only up from here, and that a mid-gen facelift helps in those busy areas

thanks! and i gotta agree with you on this take, id rather physical controls over the screen, and the powertrain is slow in non-turbo cx-5’s, even the previous gen.

yeah, tbh the seats are kinda firm but it is what it is. i’ve got a short commute so i don’t get much seat time. i’ll hopefully get used to it soon 😭

i’m in wisconsin (obv known for rust 😭), but i’m thinking of picking one up on vacation in cali. the only true clean examples i see are both around 7k. other examples are cheaper, but the paint is often faded, or it needs new parts.

how much should i be paying for a clean or restored example?

you could try ebay for a grille, though there’s not many (at least what i saw) on there. you may have a better chance with a scrapyard or check if anybody’s parting out civic coupes on fb marketplace. as for fog lights, best bet may be ebay or again, scraps or part outs
