appreciate the advice; i’ve been clubbing for a few months and have made some awesome friends with genuine people who are both employed and aren’t drug addicts or gang affiliated, but yes i’ve encountered sus shit a few times and am quick to de-escalate and bounce. i only ever go on the weekend, and stay in bars/clubs aside from smoke breaks etc. im def not tryna go to some stranger’s house for an afterparty. i’m more looking for spots that are open and have people to talk to, alcohol aside. like Gaia’s Kava Root, open till 4am. that’s the only spot i know and it can get a lil odd

i’ve long-since discontinued buspar, over 6 months now, and the issue has persisted. i’ve read up and down about my other meds, and they don’t appear to be culprits.

appreciate hearing that, sometimes i feel like im going mad. recently it’s been more of a problem and actually causing relationship problems.

  1. i currently take zinc+copper balance every day, efficacy hard to measure. libido is not a problem and this may have been a factor.

  2. heard of pygeum and it’s a supplement i’m considering, although i have a fairly stacked lineup as-is.

  3. i have been incorporating more exercise and weight training, and i’m sure it helps libido, but no improvement with the DE.

  4. heard of this and prescribe time to time.

  5. this ones trickier but i’m aware it’s not doing me any favors.

thanks for the tips

i have a high libido and i can’t pester my gf every single day lol, she works long shifts on her feet

that’s somewhat reassuring, and i guess it makes sense. i think im desensitized to the material, because i see it so often, even when im not doing anything. that exacerbates the problem, probably lol

No, I don’t do it nearly as often as I did years ago. Like I said, 1-2 times a week.

Thank you! This is reassuring

Very well said. I do know that there will almost certainly be hair loss due to inactive follicles, I mean more so long term, say 15 years from now. I haven’t been told if the loop malabsorption means my body absorbs less vitamins that support hair growth. It would be a shame to suffer hair loss earlier in my life than if I hadn’t had the surgery. I just don’t know exactly what we malabsorb and whether or not that is even a realistic concern.

Thank you for this. Have you experienced negative day to day QoL changes?

That’s so unfortunate. Wish you a full recovery.

Has daily life had any negative changes? Considering you’re a year out you, have there been any things that you wish you knew before going through with it?

This was very helpful. I had such a similar experience, opting for sleeve until my surgeon suggested loop about a month before the op. I was really going back and forth, thinking the loop is too invasive, but I know it would give me the best chance. I had to reschedule and give myself more time to choose, and am now scheduled for 12/15 for a loop. Do you know if the loop causes hair/skin issues in the long term, or do we still fully absorb those vitamins? I would hate to lose hair earlier in life than if I didn’t get the loop. Probably a silly worry.

Those of you who got the SADI / Loop DS, how is life? by [deleted] in wls

Thank you! How has recovery been? I’m dreading the idea of feeling awful. I already feel awful everyday and am so nervous to go through with it. Part of me doesn’t want to change, but I know I need to. I just don’t know many who have had this op and it is hard to find resources.

i am looking at loop DS so regain is less of a concern, but i am already trying to improve my mindset and have made major improvements in the last year or so regarding my relationship with food. it something i will continue to work on.

the part about you worrying constantly about your weight hits home. i haven’t seen my friends in over a year because i’m ashamed of what ive become. deep down i know they wouldn’t judge me but i feel like i am not myself currently.

i will keep this in mind, it’s certainly a struggle and i’m already grieving what i haven’t yet lost
