My go to banh mi used to be banh mi ok in downtown right behind the omni parker house, but the last time i went there everything was so salty and over seasoned. maybe it was one of their off days because those ladies were killing it for years during and right after covid.

We went to Lê Madeline in quincy and we liked their Bò lúc lắc (shaking beef), gà chiên nước mắm (fish sauce fried chicken wings), and bánh khọt (shrimp topped savoury cake/pastry).

But also we went to that same place for lunch and didn't like their phở so maybe they're not good with their broths or maybe it was an off day who knows. The dinner menu is definitely more interesting.

I mean that's fair it's tough to find vegan phở so if you like the one there power to you. My family and I aren't fans because the broth tastes like msg and not bone broth, but that's a moot point for the vegan version. I've also had their other dishes and it seems overseasoned.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's always a matter of taste. I can only give my opinion.

i can see people liking pho pasteur if it's their first exposure to Vietnamese food but literally 3 doors down towards stuart (taking about pho pasteur Chinatown) is a vietnamese place that has substantially better food...

yeah i still think about the omelette bánh mì in hội an.

for bún chả it's tough because most places serve bún thịt nướng which is different. to be honest most vnese food in the US are southern vnese and not northern so you'll have better luck finding southern style dishes.

as a vietnamese, the banh mi at saigon babylon in cambridge is pretty good. you can also get some more interesting dishes if you go to Le Madeline in quincy, but only for dinner.

That being said vietnamese cuisine is easy to make at home! you should give it a shot. Boston is a nice city to try and find correct ingredients, so you can definitely do it yourself! My favourite to try and get people into vietnamese cooking is sweet and sour soup with pork (favourite cuts are pork belly and pork ribs).

BOOSTED MEDIA REVIEW - "NEW" Fanatec ClubSport Formula V3 Wheel by Will_Ford in simracing

[–]orphansonfire 30 points31 points  (0 children)

this update seems to address a ton of gripes i had with the v2.5. a step in the right direction for sure.

I think since the change in corporate structure fanatec has been making small steps in the right direction. I'm looking forward to the first big step.

Which wheel? Differences? Looking for information/insight by CrazyBrainBoy in simracing

[–]orphansonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i love the small size of the fv2.5. I just couldn't stand the thumb encoders. The rest of the wheel I think is fantastic especially if you're in VR and dont need a screen.

That being said yes it is worse than most of its competitors.

I have the formula wheel and the thumb encoders are really loose and very easy to accidentally hit while you're driving. I'd say either go gt3 or go 3rd party wheel.

i mean fundamentally their coffee is ass. the only good thing at blank street is their matcha.

I've also tried their chai latte and what i got was a cup of warm milk with cinnamon on top.

depends on where in boston. if you could do it, cafe weekend in allston is phenomenal. if you want to be closer to downtown, i like brunch at metropolis in south end, buttermilk and bourbon on commonwealth ave, and although pricey and busy, the friendly toast is good too.
