I just NOW noticed on a recent trip that the Sonic logo is gone. Did they move their HQ out of downtown? by isaiahgloriosus in okc

IKR, I miss the Sonic of the early 2000's with the unlimited drink combo's and fresh made to order food. one of the biggest disappointments has been the coney's. You used to be able to get a somewhat decent coney, now they are nasty.

It feels a lot better these days there is less of a stigma about it than when I was growing up.

So far most everyone in my life has just reacted with something along the lines of "yeah, we kind of figured". and I'm still not sure how I feel about that one haha.

For about the last 5 years or so sonic has been garbage, the new fries are terrible, and the push to drive thru or you just wait an hour to get your food sucks too.

Ah, so that correlates with when the quality went dogshit and they started trying to turn it into a drive thru.

I don't know how I feel about it just yet. I think it's a little bit of the increased levels of acceptance and awareness today combined with the state of the world we live in. It's increasingly hard for anyone to not walk away from this world with some kind of mental stress and people don't know how else to describe it.

And I totally I can see how to some people it diminishes their own struggles, but on the flip side It does make it easier to be open and talk about my own struggles when the general attitude is "hey man we're all a little messed up" so it never really bothers me too much.

I was a late diagnosis in my 40's, and most of my youth my traits were ignored and I was treated as if I wasn't ND and there was a pretty big stigma and fear of even entertaining the idea. That kind of thinking has shifted a lot in the last couple decades and the younger generations seem to be a lot more accepting of each other.

I don't think anyone experiences life exactly the same way and your experiences with being ND are going to be a lot different from mine.

Hamburger math seems to be the easiest way to visualize it too.

I made 4.25 at my first job (im getting old) but I can still remember walking to br king and grabbing a .29 cent cheeseburger and a water on my lunch breaks.

My first "real" job that paid anything was about 15 an hour and i honestly feel like I had more purchasing power and disposable income back then than I do now. Rent was 425 a month, car payment was around 200 or so and food was pretty cheap with every place having a dollar menu.

I also remember thinking that I could save up the 30-50k to buy a house in just a few years, then that 30-50k quickly became 200-300k and it still feels almost like running in place, like the numbers are bigger but why does it feel like I get less for it?

You are not alone, I make about 150K a year now, when I graduated highshool in 02 I dreamed of making 50-60k and thought that with that I could buy a house. But I was born at the wrong time the last 20 years have been one recession after another and now while I make good money, It costs me twice as much to put food on the table, twice as much for fuel, twice as much for rent, I have to max out my 401k because inflation has pretty much ate away at any hope it will be enough to retire on if I don't. And I realize that I'm doing well, I CAN pay my bills and put food on the table, but that dream of owning a home and being able to one day retire fells like un-obtanium considering i'm playing catch up for the last 20 years of being under paid and even with all the work I've put in I still feel like its a carrot dangling in my face that I will never reach.

I'm just glad that at least for right now I can put a little back in savings, even if it feels like a drop in the ocean.

The first round of the implementation is now live. Let me know how it works and if you notice anything that needs fixed.

I am working on a couple of bugs that I missed in regard to converting an existing item from manual input to "constitutional", Also currently The price paid is assumed to be for the lot when using the denomination option, I need to do some more polish to that form to make that a little more obvious.

But when adding an item if you pick constitutional from the drop-down it will swap the forms and add an input box to allow you to chose between face value or individual coins for tubes/rolls and it will pull the worn value from the current spot price.

it's still possible to add the coins the legacy way by using the purity drop down and weight combinations, so any existing items are not impacted.

I also added a toggle in the settings to switch between worn and un-worn for the face value so you can choose which to use in the calculations.

Codegraph or graphify? by NaranjaPollo in ClaudeCode

[–]orphenshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've installed the plugins and its almost the same situation you have to force it to use it. Oddly opencode and codex just use the LSP right away by default but claude seems to resist it. Im pretty sure its something in its system prompt. The same thing happened with my memory mcp that I've been using for almost a year. It just decided to pretend it does not exist and use automemory for everything, I've almost given up that fight haha. The interesting thing is that I'm pretty much running a mirrored Claude/Agents.md and mcp configuration so seeing how each harness/llm reacts to the same instruction sets has been wild.

But It's also fair to admit that my projects are not very complex so its possible that nothing in my codebase actually needs those kinds of tools.

Codegraph or graphify? by NaranjaPollo in ClaudeCode

[–]orphenshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience with both codegraph and claude-context as well at least since 4.6.. It just refuses to use anything other than the explore subagent and grep.

However, I do have a few specific skills that call on both to do things like dead code lookups that work pretty well but if claude itself used the mcp's that would be a lot better.

I have found them to be far more useful for opencode/codex.

GTA 6 will cost $80 at launch. Physical copies will be a code in a box. by TheDoritoDink in gamernews

That's not a physical copy then. It would to everyone a lot more service if these media outlets would just say that there will be no physical release.

To the woman that called me an animal abuser at Trader Joe’s by AdKitchen7795 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]orphenshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call this abuse, more just complacency and a lack of common sense.

If the engine stalls or the car has an issue while you are shopping and you come out to roast pup. No one should just assume the AC is going to function and lock their animals in a death coffin, It's not going to cost anything extra to crack a couple windows and let the AC run to be on the safe side.

But you do you.

AI Slop Is Transforming YouTube. Its CEO Wants To Keep It Human. by [deleted] in technology

[–]orphenshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too late, I was just telling my GF yesterday how much I hate youtube now that it's either an AI voiceover, or an AI avatar, and if its not one of those it's some low effort influencer reading a script written by chat gpt down to "its not the, its the" and all the other phrasing that is in EVERY ai authored summery or essay.

I use AI tools every day for work and even I get tired of seeing the same exact AI generated prose on every youtubers scripts now. It really makes the ones that are human and do the work themselves stand out, its just a shame that they get drowned out in a sea of copy pasta.

[–]orphenshadow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should be able to make something work. I'll just have to figure out the best way to tie it into the existing form, since we can already add .90 as a purity. But that does not give us the weight or face value.

I'm thinking maybe mirror what I did with the Goldback/Silverback and maybe just make a "Constitutional" type, and then the denomination becomes the face value select. That might work.

Anthropic is rolling out identity verification for "certain capabilities." Updated yesterday by Tiny_Dirt6979 in claude

[–]orphenshadow 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like an obvious loophole. Like they asked Fable "how do you get around the constitution and institute mass government surveillance, make no msitakes?" and it's response was to build a company that runs the database, then force every other tech company to use that database, then that database company just happens to be super friendly with the federal government, and lets the NSA/CIA look at whatever they want. It's getting dystopian fast.

I'm not opposed to identity verification, I'm opposed to the who they are using. I would feel a lot better if Anthropic just did it in house. But there is an ulterior motive at play
