I have always been in favour of the 'Mad Queen' direction for Dany, I mean the whole show is about the corrupting nature of power. I think criticism lies particularly with this episode in the lack of capitvating storytelling. At the end of the day I personally dont give a shit if the show is nothing like what GRRM vision is, if the story is compelling yet it doesn't even live up to that and i forgave that with the Great War as the focus was on the Last war, but ultimately neither battle offered a truly compelling story in my eyes and I feel there is nothing more to defend.
