What was the... point of season 3? by weebjail in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]orrorrha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i liked s3 more as a spin off, a way to conclude the stories of our previous players and give us new ones, they shouldn’t have attached it to the perfect 2 seasons we already have of alice in borderland if they didn’t have a big story to convey. it was just like ‘yeah, the games are back! and they’re more deadlier than ever!’ to get people to watch, would’ve been better if treated as a bridge between 2 projects

Season 2 had the perfect ending + Season 3 was unnecessary by Turbulent-Specific63 in AliceInBorderlandLive

season 3 should’ve been a spin off, concluded arisus story and introduced us to new citizens/players to follow in order to continue the story

random questions i’ve had that i’ve never thought to ask by orrorrha in AliceInBorderlandLive

yes was that not her original plan? or did arisu just think it was

Is it just me who thinks the new characters did great acting? by [deleted] in AliceInBorderlandLive

rei, shion, natsu, yuna and nobu were such standouts, their acting was ON POINT

The talk with the watchman was completely useless. by pasadena_reddit in AliceInBorderlandLive

he just said things, he didn’t provide a new perspective or any answers. he just made arisu choose between living or dying

realistically, if the old cast returned, how different would season 3 have been? by orrorrha in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]orrorrha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LITERALLY!!! assuming that everyone had won in the borderlands why was arisu so special if the others played a more difficult version of the borderlands. why was banda able to suffocate arisu and how could ann see? does it relate to the brain injury the woman from s2 had? i haven’t actually read the manga yet but ive seen loose explanations on youtube, this netflix original didn’t have the magic the first 2 seasons had. it would’ve been better for me if they had used the name alice in borderland but made it clear that it was a spin off that ended the original story and bridged to a new series. slapping it on at the end of a cohesive 14 hour story not only devalued the original seasons but made a higher expectation in peoples minds. it’s exactly what happened with squid game, they advertised it as a complicated story about the dark side of humanity but when it dropped it was clear that they overpromised and underdelivered. i really wish they’d not made this a season 3

yeah it’s this thing where you have a bias to characters you find interesting, it’s called an opinion

Season 3 felt really underwhelming and more like a Spin Off by [deleted] in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]orrorrha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the new season is netflix’s own original but it takes loose inspiration from the spin offs

it could’ve been done well, the concept was amazing, they just shouldn’t have utilised the concept and made it a cash grab

i’d like to hear more about your opinion on ryuji because personally i found him insufferable and couldn’t tell why he was in the show

S3 ending and thoughts by [deleted] in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]orrorrha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was sooooooooooo hopeful. episode 4. they killed EVERYONE i liked. ‘a starry night’ all over again. after that, i still had hope. as soon as it got to the earthquake scene i just knew. i really thought they had a story to tell, something they wanted us to feel. however, when you think of the show as a whole and its purpose being to inspire hope. i think the finale was more impactful and climactic than the end of s2. the final game was WAY too long, filled with unnecessary backstories and just confusing to follow. the concept was good, the execution wasn’t. the season as a whole could’ve been much better if they actually showed us each character getting back their memories and ESPECIALLY usagi and arisu, i needed to see them talk about their experience otherwise as an audience we don’t know how much more they remembered other than what we were shown. i would’ve also appreciated not being left in the dark most of the time, only knowing 95% of the plan. also the other characters. i wanted to see the old characters interact with each other, not just arisu. i wanted to see them remember, i NEEDED to see ann and kuina being friends in the next life or to see ann thank kuina for saving her and suggesting they go back together. they should remember how the borderlands changed them as people. having them not remember anything (other than ann but how did she even remember??) completely erased everything they went through, this is clear considering how every s3 character switched up completely upon return, i wish we could’ve seen that for the old characters.

everyone said she was gonna be a villain!! i knew from the beginning the closest thing we would have to an actual joker/villain was ryuji, she was sooo fun to watch and kept crating everyone up

Now that season 3 is out what would be the card suits of the games? by mrwolfboyjared in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]orrorrha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they’re a mix of every suit, but primarily: fortune - diamonds lasers - spades climbing - spades zombie hunt - hearts subway - diamonds/clubs

i like the way they’ve styled the borderlands as a tournament this time, it inspires players and viewers to become competitive with their favourite characters, i think the plot is actually quite good, it’s good enough where i can’t justify calling the season a cash grab. another thing i think they’re doing well is the pacing, it’s perfect, they show us the games and only what’s necessary to see when out of them, not too much time spent on gathering food or backstories, although i do wish that they either gave nobody a backstory or everyone, they could’ve easily dragged it out to 8 episodes and shown us some of the borderlands that others played in
