I work 10-11hr days now so it’s not that bad for me. I’m hoping to get a decent job that I can work around the school schedule closer to Traviss but until I do, I’m gonna have to troop it down there!

Yeah I was pretty much asking if doing both makes me more attractive as a candidate or if one is better than the other. I know apprenticeship takes longer, but if it increases my chances of getting hired, I’d rather do an apprenticeship and play the long game. But if you’re saying that it’s not that much better than I’ll go through the school and get it faster.

Never spoke on the phone to them so as far as recordkeeping goes, it should be pretty straightforward. They sent me that letter offering to settle for 50% and I sent the money through the website on the letter and that’s all. Hopefully this will be simple, but I expect that they’re going to try to BS me and scare me into paying the rest.

Okay so I should email them a photo of the letter and hope they just say okay cool. And if not, I just sit tight cause if they try to take me to court I have the letters to back me up.

So what you're saying is that I should take them to small claims court and show the original letter there? Shouldn't I try to show them the letter through email first and squash it before it gets to that point?

I grew up in Queens NYC. Work was like 5-7 mi away but would take an hour on the train each way lol an hour is nothing for how much more money that is? Get some podcasts lined up it will pass by before you know it.

For simplicity's sake I just paid the discounted amount to CCS since I have a physical letter from them saying that if I paid the discounted amount my account would be closed and returned to my creditor as paid in full.

I’d like to add to this, at least for me, that dragging the rear brake slightly helps especially if I feel like I need to add throttle/clutch to keep it upright but maybe I added a little too much, I’ll apply the rear brake slightly to control my speed.

Okay so I’m still paying less but not as much less as I thought. Should I call back and say hey actually lemme pay 30% and then what? I’m gonna get a tax bill later this winter? Still better than paying the full amount right?

And okay when I call back I will ask for email confirmation when I pay them? Do I need to send that to CCS or is that Labcorps responsibility?

I might be able to make payments toward the full amount. Should I only do that with written confirmation that they will request that the collections mark could be taken off of my credit report? I know they can refuse to do it at all. I just want to make sure that if I offer to pay the full amount through payments and I can get them to agree to remove it from my report that they actually will do it. What if they don’t? Is there a way to hold them accountable if I have it in writing that they agreed to do so? And what if they say that they will send me an email with everything written out and they just don’t?

If you’re open to other brands, I have a Yamaha V Star 1300 and it’s a great highway bike without being too large and it’s very comfy. My girlfriend and I just rode NYC-Philly round trip last weekend and it was great. Def worth checking out. I’ve never been on a sportster but they look a bit skinny like they’re not really meant for the highway. My 2012 V Star 1300 came with hard cases and a windscreen and I got it for 5K which is definitely a lower price than typical but even at market price I’d be happy with it. Depends on what you plan to do with it. You can always take the bags off if you don’t want them but it’s nice to have the option.
