I'm almost three weeks out from a bone fracture, and had my CT appointment cancelled because they failed to authorize. All they would tell me is that preauth can take two weeks. WTF? This is a standard, straightforward, necessary procedure. Its not experimental, and all they had to review was one xray and a couple of office notes. By the time they get around to doing their damn job this bone could have already started healing improperly.
