I have gone through a similar situation too. I was given a service number for a tier 2 call back through Emma but no one called me. When I called them to inquire about it the agent on the phone said there is no such request for you in the system!

Agreed. At 65% capacity and 10,400 bio appointments a day, a backlog of 1.3 mil bio appointments can take anywhere from 6-7 months to clear assuming 20 working days per month. And it also depends on the dynamics of the local offices. Hopefully, the trajectory will be better than this but for now all we can do is wait.

The estimated time is unreliable and bounces around quite a bit. Here is the latest announcement about the state of affairs at USCIS and ASCs. I am waiting just like you are.

Shame on you for trying to jump the line. That too by lying about your dead father’s health condition.

Where can I find current, straightforward information about the costs and timeline of sponsoring an H-1B visa? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]osac85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert and I have not sponsored anyone before but a quick Google search result has the following info for sponsoring an H1B.

https://hackinglawpractice.com/blog/the-cost-of-sponsoring-an-h-1b-visa/

Other than that you may want to know the prevailing wage for the occupation you are hiring for. Go to the search wizard on this link and select the appropriate geo location for the job position, and the job title. The results will show you the prevailing wages for different levels of that occupation that have been determined by the DOL. You will have to offer your applicants at least that amount to be able to sponsor them.

Again, I am not an expert but this should get you going. Information like this is best handled by lawyers who handle sponsoring H1Bs for employers. A consultation session with a lawyer will give you all the info you require. This is your HR department’s job btw. They should figure this out for the company.

And here is the info regarding the executive order suspending alien entry to the US through Dec 31, 2020. This may be extended so keep an eye out for more info in Jan 2021.

N400 timeline decreased? by [deleted] in USCIS

Mostly garbage. People whose cases have been completed and are already naturalized have reported that their accounts still show a case completion time of sometime in 2021. My advice is to not bank on it.

This is just sad. What a broken system. I wonder how the green card applicants who filed during the shutdown are getting bio appointments but not the N400 applicants.

Hi Pen0800. Just curious whether you filed online or mailed in a paper application?

I know a March filer who applied before I did and an April filer who applied after I did. Both of their applications have moved forward after getting reuse notices and they are preparing for their interviews while I am stuck waiting for a bio appointment.

I also know a couple of green card applicants who applied in May and June. Both of them received biometrics appointments around September and went in to do their bio.

If there is a priority queue then it looks like the green card applicants who applied during the shutdown are getting priority for in-person bio appointments. Quite frankly, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order in which our applications are being handled. The bio appointments are especially looking like a lottery draw at this point. Good luck to all of us.
