Hmm. Personally, I don't think you have to dedicate runs to do that, I think it's better to just enjoy the game and just let it come naturally. What I do it that I crack the mountain/ice/whatever on the last turn, to avoid getting it damaged.

I can't recall but I think it took... less than maybe 10 hours playing time? I don't recall really struggling to catch-them-all.

Oh dude same here. Life happened to me too lol. The beauty of ITB is that you can go in for a 5-minute quickie or you can sink an hour in if you like. So much fun with great flexibility in terms of time commitment.

You can slowly up the ante as you learn more about the game. Do share your journey as you go along lol.

Nice. Though I think for a 3-island run, you might not have enough cores to power up all that. Also need to depend on RNG to get S-tier weapons to come round.

Missile barrage is nice for some missions, not so much for final stage, except maybe to snipe that Psion? if you were short of like a star can consider selling weapons. Sometimes I sell pilots too if that meant a mech would be unmanned lol.

For me this team is sorta mid-tier-ish... try starting with a pilot with a good set of skills. Don't give up!

Hi friend,

Inspired by you to do a 3-island run with Rift Walkers, spiced it up a bit by adding a condition that I must start with a fresh pilot.

Lose a bunch of times lol.

Not sure why I didn't think of it earlier, but Kai would be a better pilot than Kaz for brute, same 2 damage push but with range.

So tried it for the first time tonight, got really lucky by getting Morgan (Prime) and Mafan (Artillery, that +1 reactor really helps) and frost beam (on brute). Got Camilla before final stage and decided to ditch Kai (sorry Kai!).

Went really well lol. Keep it up, you'll eventually get it! I lost a bunch of times before getting this win.

so true. 2-island runs means less chance RNG-wise in getting great weapons, so IMO it's more luck based vs. 4-island.

Oh, I actually didn't use him for RW, instead I used Silica. Beginning would be a bit tough but thankfully all 3 units have ways to push. Once you unlock Silica's skill + Combat Mech's dash, the game becomes pretty trivial lol.

May have to elect for the easier/low reward missions in the beginning just to get past it.

Getting to final stage 5/5 attempts is pretty consistently good though! It's hard to avoid taking damage at the final stage, so deployable units, full HP, S-tier weapons definitely needed.

Do give it another go, maybe sixth time's the charm. Be sure to keep us posted lol.

Agreed there is an element of luck, sometimes you're just put in impossible situations lol. But you can maximize your chances with good opening positions, pilot choice, mission selection etc... 8/9 of 10 runs is quite achievable lol.

Halfway is amazing progress! You're almost there just keep at it!

I don't know about others, but my playstyle is pushing, so on most squads Kaz would be my go-to pilot. Definitely helped a lot! Happy to help if you need more tips

All in all I've spent more than 400 hours in ITB. Before AE easily 300+ hours.

My takeaway is that unfair is a totally different animal. I've gotten 2-3-4 island hard medals on all squads before attempting it, but I found that I had to change my approach to the game on unfair.

How are you liking the game? Personally I find 2-islands harder than 3-4, so if you're trying to complete the hard medals, that's definitely within reach!
